Randomized Controlled TrialEffectiveness, safety, and acceptability of cryotherapy by midwives for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in Maharashtra, India.
To evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and acceptability of cryotherapy for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) when provided by trained midwives in rural India. ⋯ Cryotherapy provided by midwives was found to be safe, effective, and acceptable by the women.

Comparative StudyEffect of bariatric surgery on pregnancy outcome.
To compare the perinatal outcomes of women who delivered before with women who delivered after bariatric surgery. ⋯ A decrease in maternal complications, such as diabetes mellitus and hypertensive disorders, as well as a decrease in the rate of fetal macrosomia is achieved following bariatric surgery.

Sexual violence-related fistulas in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
To determine the magnitude of traumatic gynecologic fistulas caused by sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. ⋯ Traumatic fistulas are rare compared to obstetric fistulas. Fistulas indirectly related to sexual violence are likely to be more common than those directly related. All fistulas resulting from sexual violence, whether direct or indirect, should be considered traumatic and special care should be given to these women.

Multicenter StudyA criterion-based obstetric morbidity audit in southern Thailand.
To evaluate the incidences of severe pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, obstructed labor, and postpartum hemorrhage in the 5 southernmost provinces of Thailand, and the quality of care for these conditions, using a modified version of a criterion-based clinical audit. ⋯ Incomplete diagnosis documentation and evidence of substandard care were common, which warrants auditing for such problems and providing feedback to physicians.
