Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy and safety of a fixed combination of intramuscular diclofenac 75 mg + thiocolchicoside 4 mg in the treatment of acute low back pain: a phase III, randomized, double blind, controlled trial.
The management of acute low back pain (LBP) is directed to obtain early and maximum relief of the local and regional pain, and to improve mobility and physical function. ⋯ The new diclofenac+thiocolchicoside FDC formulation may allow treating effectively acute LBP while reducing the number of injections and hence the risk of local adverse reactions, and improving the patient's compliance.

Multicenter StudyCan vitamin D deficiency influence muscle performance in postmenopausal women? A multicenter retrospective study.
The presence of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) has been recently demonstrated in human muscle supporting the theory of a role of vitamin D in the proliferation and differentiation of muscle cells. So far only few studies investigated the association between vitamin D and muscle performance in postmenopausal women. ⋯ This study reported the frequency of hypovitaminosis D in postmenopausal women and its influence on the reduction of muscle mass, strength, and physical performance in a typical population referring to the physiatrist for musculoskeletal disorders.

Evaluating the functional outcomes of ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin type A injections using the Euro-musculus approach for upper limb spasticity treatment in post-stroke patients: an observational study.
Ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin type A injection is an effective treatment for spasticity. Euro-musculus spasticity approach is a new method for administering injections to the correct point of the correct muscle. The clinical outcomes of this practical approach are not yet available in the literature. ⋯ This new approach for ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin type A injection is very practical and effective method for upper extremity spasticity.

Randomized Controlled TrialMuscle stretching exercises and resistance training in fibromyalgia: which is better? A three-arm randomized controlled trial.
Exercise therapy is an effective component of fibromyalgia (FM) treatment. However, it is important to know the effects and specificities of the different types of exercise: muscle stretching and resistance training. ⋯ The trial included a control group and two intervention groups, both of which received exercise programs created specifically for patients with FM. In clinical practice, we suggest including both modalities in an exercise therapy program for FM.
