Comparative StudyDoes hemiplegic shoulder pain share clinical and sensory characteristics with central neuropathic pain? A comparative study.
Hemiplegic shoulder pain (HSP) is a common poststroke complication and is considered to be a chronic pain syndrome. It is negatively correlated with the functional recovery of the affected arm and the quality of life of the individual. It also leads to a longer length of stay in rehabilitation. Today, there is no consensus as to the underlying mechanism causing HSP, making the syndrome difficult to treat. ⋯ The use of specific therapy options for neuropathic pain should be considered when treating patients with HSP.

The outcome of a modified version of the Cheneau brace in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) based on SRS and SOSORT criteria: a retrospective study.
Bracing therapy for patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) continues to be a controversial issue. As a consequence, to achieve an adequate level of evidence, there is a strong need for specific studies conducted according to standard outcome and management criteria. ⋯ The "Cheneau-P" brace proved effective as a conservative treatment for AIS by stabilizing curve progression and limiting the need for surgical treatment.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyMagnetic resonance therapy for knee osteoarthritis: a randomized, double blind placebo controlled trial.
Therapeutic nuclear magnetic resonance therapy (MRT) works based on the electromagnetic fields. ⋯ The present study does not promote use of a 10-day course of MRT in mild to moderate knee OA.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyBath thermal waters in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis: a randomized controlled clinical trial.
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease associated with pain, reduced range of motion, and impaired function. Balneotherapy or bathing in thermal or mineral waters is used as a non-invasive treatment for various rheumatic diseases. ⋯ Baths in thermal waters, especially those in sulfurous waters, are effective in reducing pain and improving physical function in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

Controlled Clinical TrialEfficacy of a workplace relaxation exercise program on muscle tenderness in a working community with headache and neck pain: a longitudinal, controlled study.
Pericranial muscle tenderness shows a remarkable prevalence not only in tension-type headache, but also in migraine, both episodic and chronic. Neck pain is a common disorder and leads to a high rate of work disability; its prevalence increases for headache. ⋯ This relaxation exercise programme was remarkably cost-effective, yielding a relevant benefit on pericranial/cervical muscle tenderness in a working community, at a relatively low cost.
