Novel 5-point 18-FDG-PET/CT visual scoring system for assessing treatment response in patients with oesophageal or gastro-oesophageal junction carcinoma.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the prognostic utility and reproducibility of a qualitative 5-point 18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-PET primary visual score (PVS) in patients with oesophageal and gastro-oesophageal junction (GOJ) cancer. ⋯ Qualitative assessment of oesophageal and GOJ cancers utilising FDG-PET is reproducible and may be able to prognosticate outcomes in patients undergoing treatment. Prospective validation is required.

Multicenter StudyPain response and quality of life assessment in patients with moderate/severe neuropathic pain due to bone metastasis undergoing treatment with palliative radiotherapy and tapentadol: A prospective multicentre pilot study.
To assess pain response rate (RR) and quality of life (QoL), in patients with moderate/severe neuropathic pain (NP) due to bone metastasis (BM) undergoing palliative 3D radiotherapy plus tapentadol. ⋯ Palliative radiotherapy plus tapentadol shows an acceptable pain response and QoL improvement especially regarding EF, fatigue and painful site symptom scales in patients with moderate/severe NP due to BM. Therefore, it could be an alternative to manage NP in daily practice.

We report the case of who has been hospitalized complaining about fever in the last 4 days. Laboratory data revealed lymphocytopenia and leucopenia with an elevation of C-reactive protein and positive real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). ⋯ Lung abnormality findings at 18 F-FDG PET/CT images, unrelated to cancer metastases, but suspicious for viral infection, may suggest the presence of COVID-19 disease in its early phase before symptoms onset. Since PET/CT is more sensitive than CT scan in detecting host's reaction, the added value of this technique could be monitoring disease progression and could be used as a biomarker of lung disease activity and therefore as an important tool for a better understanding of the factors that contribute to the progression of lung disease.

This case report describes our early radiological experiences of middle-aged patients with COVID-19 at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. We found limited relationship between initial CT imaging appearances and progression to severe disease. The most effective use of imaging in COVID-19 is yet to be determined.
