Clinical and Radiological Outcomes of Subtalar Kalix II Arthroereisis for a Symptomatic Pediatric Flexible Flatfoot.
Background. The purpose of this study is to evaluate functional and radiological outcomes of subtalar arthroereisis in the treatment of symptomatic pediatric flexible flatfeet. Methods. ⋯ Subtalar Kalix II arthroereisis significantly reduced clinical symptoms and improved the CP and MA directly postoperatively, which persisted during follow-up, irrespective of Kalix removal. Therefore, subtalar arthroereisis is a considerable intervention to reduce symptoms in children with symptomatic flexible flatfeet. Levels of Evidence: Level IV: Case series.

Opioid Use, Perioperative Risks, and Associated Postoperative Complications in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Opioid abuse has become a national crisis. Published data demonstrate that patients undergoing foot and ankle surgery are left with excess narcotic medications postoperatively. The purpose of our study was to evaluate factors associated with prolonged postoperative opioid use following foot and ankle surgery and identify associations between preoperative opioid use and postoperative complications. ⋯ Prognostic Level IV Evidence.

Primary Arthrodesis Versus Open Reduction and Internal Fixation Outcomes for Lisfranc Injuries: An Analysis of Conflicting Meta-analyses Results.
The superiority of primary arthrodesis (PA) versus open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) in Lisfranc injuries has been debated. Meta-analyses comparing these surgical options have reached contradicting conclusions. The goal of this article is to determine why different conclusions were reached and provide clarity on the comparable outcomes of PA and ORIF in Lisfranc injuries. ⋯ Level II: Therapeutic studies.
