Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Quality of anticoagulation control in preventing adverse events in patients with heart failure in sinus rhythm: Warfarin versus Aspirin in Reduced Cardiac Ejection Fraction trial substudy.
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between time in the therapeutic range (TTR) and clinical outcomes in heart failure patients in sinus rhythm treated with warfarin. ⋯ URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Unique identifier: NCT00041938.

Left Ventricular Reverse Remodeling With Biventricular Versus Right Ventricular Pacing in Patients With Atrioventricular Block and Heart Failure in the BLOCK HF Trial.
Biventricular pacing in heart failure (HF) improves survival, relieves symptoms, and attenuates left ventricular (LV) remodeling. However, little is known about biventricular pacing in HF patients with atrioventricular block because they are typically excluded from biventricular trials. ⋯ URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Regular wine consumption in chronic heart failure: impact on outcomes, quality of life, and circulating biomarkers.
Moderate, regular alcohol consumption is generally associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular events but data in patients with chronic heart failure are scarce. We evaluated the relations between wine consumption, health status, circulating biomarkers, and clinical outcomes in a large Italian population of patients with chronic heart failure enrolled in a multicenter clinical trial. ⋯ URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Baseline distribution of participants with depression and impaired quality of life in the Treatment of Preserved Cardiac Function Heart Failure with an Aldosterone Antagonist Trial.
Previous studies have demonstrated the psychosocial effect of heart failure in patients with reduced ejection fraction. However, the effects on patients with preserved ejection fraction have not yet been elucidated. This study aimed to determine the baseline characteristics of participants with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction as it relates to impaired quality of life (QOL) and depression, identify predictors of poor QOL and depression, and determine the correlation between QOL and depression. ⋯ URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Unique identifier: NCT00094302.

Characteristics and outcomes of patients with advanced chronic systolic heart failure receiving care at the Veterans Affairs versus other hospitals: insights from the Beta-blocker Evaluation of Survival Trial (BEST).
Characteristics and outcomes of patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction receiving care at Veterans Affairs (VA) versus non-VA hospitals have not been previously reported. ⋯ http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Unique identifier: NCT00000560.
