ReviewMoving towards hepatitis B elimination in Gulf Health Council states: From commitment to action.
In 2016, the World Health Assembly adopted the hepatitis B (HB) elimination strategy that aims at ending HB by 2030. In this descriptive review we provide the progress made and challenges to achieving hepatitis B elimination by 2030 in Gulf Health Cooperated (GHC) states. ⋯ Additional steps are required to strengthen immunisation among the most-at-risk populations, maintain high quality surveillance, use antiviral therapy to treat chronic HBV and stop unsafe injection practices for drug users. Establishing country-specific national hepatitis responses based on country priorities as well as the capacity of the home health sectors to address these needs are paramount. Achieving elimination targets will require a radical alteration in the current hepatitis response and this goal should be elevated to a higher priority in the public health arena.

Comparative StudyComparison of clinical effectiveness of nurse led care among Chinese patients with cancer: A prospective study evaluating effective patient care compared to consultant oncologist.
The NLC model in oncology setting was not well established in China, and there was no study evaluating the clinical effectiveness of NLC versus oncologist-led care (OLC) in Chinese patients with cancer. We therefore designed a pilot study to evaluate the clinical usefulness after NLC versus OLC in Chinese patients with cancer. ⋯ The results of this preliminary study showed that NLC results in better clinical outcome in terms of improvement in pain intensity, dyspnea intensity, symptom distress, constipation score, and QOL in comparison to oncologist led care among Chinese cancer patients. This study results can aid as a base for steering outsized clinical study to form the model of NLC among Chinese cancer patients.

A qualitative study on parents' reasons and recommendations for childhood vaccination refusal in Malaysia.
Vaccine-related diseases are increasing in developing countries. This study aimed to explore parents' reasons for refusal of childhood vaccinations in Malaysia and their recommendations on addressing their concerns. ⋯ Parents had multiple reasons for refusing childhood vaccinations but felt that communication and empathy from healthcare professionals was lacking. Besides individual consultations with parents, addressing these concerns at multiple levels in the health care system and society may help to increase the uptake of childhood vaccinations in the future.

Effect of lung protective ventilation on perioperative pulmonary infection in elderly patients with mild to moderate COPD under general anesthesia.
The research aims to explore the effects of different ventilation time on postoperative pulmonary infection in elderly patients with the mild and moderate chronic pulmonary obstructive disease (COPD), so as to provide evidence for reducing postoperative pulmonary infection complications in patients with COPD. ⋯ It is important to detect pulmonary function before surgery, maintain single lung ventilation protection for no more than 2.0h during surgery, and quit smoking to improve pulmonary infection in patients with COPD after surgery. In addition, the incidence of postoperative pulmonary infection in patients with moderate COPD was higher than that in patients with mild COPD, suggesting that early treatment in patients with COPD was also of great significance in reducing the incidence of postoperative pulmonary infection.
