Health Care Provider Practices and Perceptions During Family-Centered Rounds With Limited English-Proficient Families.
To increase understanding of current practices and perceptions of family-centered rounds (FCR) by providers for limited English-proficient (LEP) families relative to English-proficient families. ⋯ Many differences exist in FCR for LEP versus English-proficient families. FCR for LEP families may be optimized with standardization and training, redefining the interpreters' roles, and improving access to interpreters.

Prevalence and Correlates of Food Allergy Among Medicaid-Enrolled United States Children.
The objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive epidemiological profile detailing food allergy (FA) prevalence and related correlates among Medicaid-enrolled children. ⋯ Compared with estimates of parent-reported, physician-diagnosed FA in the general population, the claims-based prevalence of FA among Medicaid-enrolled children is substantially lower. Racial and ethnic differences are consistent with the general population. The findings signal a need to better understand reasons for these differences including awareness, access to care, and service utilization patterns in this population.

Optimizing Synchronous Online Teaching Sessions: A Guide to the "New Normal" in Medical Education.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the medical education community was forced to transition to the virtual space seemingly overnight, with little time to prepare. As such, many medical educators are actively seeking ways to improve delivery of online content and utilize features of different technologies. This View from the APPD, informed by existing literature and author experience, was created to guide medical teachers in their transition to hosting synchronous learning sessions in the virtual space. We hope to empower medical educators with the confidence and skills needed to teach effectively from a distance.
