Polyclonal hypergammaglobulinaemia (PH) represents a classic diagnosis problem in internal medicine. However, there is no consensus threshold for PH. The aim of this study was to define a threshold for PH. ⋯ This is the first study to scientifically define a PH threshold. The main limitation is that our threshold is only biological. The study was not designed to associate this threshold with a clinically active disease. In conclusion, while the 19 g/L cut-off seems the most relevant threshold, but it will need to be validated by prospective studies.

The importance of radiology in trauma management is particularly relevant today as Scotland develops its Scottish Trauma Network. Trauma and radiology are scarcely covered in the 2016 and 2021 Foundation Programme Curriculum. Trauma is a significant and endemic public health challenge, while radiology is ever growing in use as a diagnostic and interventional tool. ⋯ This translated to fewer delays in trauma patients receiving radiological investigations. The foundation curriculum would benefit from the introduction of trauma radiology teaching for its foundation doctors, in parallel to the demands of a growing national trauma network. Education globally improves radiology request quality by raising awareness and respect of IRMER criteria and ultimately leads to positive changes for patient safety.

The primary aim was to systematically review the empirical evidence relating to models and guidance for providing effective feedback in clinical supervision occurring in postgraduate medical education contexts. A secondary aim was to identify the common and differentiating components of models and guidance for providing effective feedback in this context. A systematic review was conducted. ⋯ The evidence supporting specific models and guidance in postgraduate medical education was limited. However, there is evidence to support all of the commonly identified principles. In addition, a consensus about the principles of effective feedback in clinical supervision in postgraduate medical education was found.
