Study of usage pattern of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) among different practice categories in Indian clinical setting.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the usage pattern of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in diverse clinical practice settings in India. ⋯ This study has shown that there exist significant differences in the usage pattern and preferences of NSAIDs among different practice categories in India. The data have also revealed that there is a need for awareness programmes on rational prescribing of NSAIDs towards optimal therapeutics and improved patient care in India.

Pharmacokinetics of intravenous paracetamol in children and adolescents under major surgery.
The aim of this study was to describe the pharmacokinetics of paracetamol (acetaminophen) and to get primary information on its metabolism after first indicated intravenous administration of paracetamol in children and adolescents undergoing major surgery. ⋯ Surgery, with all its potential influencing factors, together with chemotherapy given about 4 weeks previously do not seem to have a major impact on the pharmacokinetic behavior and the between-subject variability of paracetamol after intravenous administration.
