Comparison of cerebral blood volume and permeability in preoperative grading of intracranial glioma using CT perfusion imaging.
Regional cerebral blood volume (rCBV) and permeability surfaces (rPS) permit in vivo assessment of glioma microvasculature, which provides quite important pathophysiological information in grading gliomas. The aim of our study was to simultaneously examine rCBV and rPS in glioma patients to determine their correlation with histological grade using CT perfusion imaging. ⋯ Perfusion CT provides useful information for glioma grading and might have the potential to significantly impact clinical management and follow-up of cerebral gliomas.

The tentorial artery is often involved in arterial supply to tentorial dural fistulas. The hypertrophied tentorial artery is accessible to embolization, either with glue or with particles. ⋯ Different endovascular techniques may be successfully applied to embolize the tentorial artery in the treatment of tentorial dural fistulas.

To investigate the contribution of perfusion-weighted MRI to the differentiation of meningiomas with atypical conventional MRI findings from intraaxial tumors. ⋯ Differentiating meningiomas with atypical conventional MRI findings from malignant intraaxial tumors can be difficult. Calculation of rCBV ratios and construction of signal intensity-time curves may contribute to the differentiation of meningiomas from intraaxial tumors.

Focal transient lesion in the splenium of the corpus callosum in three non-epileptic patients.
We analyzed the imaging features of transient focal lesions in the splenium of the corpus callosum (SCC) in non-epileptic patients receiving antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). ⋯ We believe that our MR findings might be interpreted as transient lesions related to AED toxicity. They presumably resulted from focal demyelination in the central portion of the SCC.
