Impact of COVID-19 lockdown on suicide attempts : A retrospective analysis of the springtime admissions to the trauma resuscitation room at the Medical University of Vienna from 2015-2020.
In response to the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic the Austrian government issued a lockdown from 16 March to 15 May 2020. As periods of economic and emotional burden have proven to detrimentally affect people's psychological health, healthcare officials warned that the strict measures could have a serious impact on psychological health, leading to an increase in suicide attempts. Thus, the objective was to provide evidence for this assumption. ⋯ The results strongly urge for an improvement in crisis intervention and suicide prevention measures in the event of a future lockdown.

Clinical TrialCOVID-19 serology in nephrology healthcare workers.
Chronic kidney disease patients show a high mortality in cases of a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV‑2) infection. Thus, information on the sero-status of nephrology personnel might be crucial for patient protection; however, limited information exists about the presence of SARS-CoV‑2 antibodies in asymptomatic individuals. ⋯ Using a broad spectrum of antibody tests the present study revealed inconsistent results for SARS-CoV‑2 seroprevalence among asymptomatic individuals, while this was not the case among COVID-19 patients.

COVID-19-associated myoclonus in a series of five critically ill patients.
In addition to respiratory symptoms, many patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) present with neurological complications. Several case reports and small case series described myoclonus in five patients suffering from the disease. The purpose of this article is to report on five critically ill patients with COVID-19-associated myoclonus. ⋯ Myoclonus in patients with severe COVID-19 may be due to an inflammatory process, hypoxia or GABAergic impairment. Most patients received treatment with antiepileptic or anti-inflammatory agents and improved clinically.

Clinical and radiological characteristics of COVID‑19 patients without comorbidities : A single-center study.
To evaluate the clinical characteristics and detailed imaging features in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients without comorbidities. ⋯ Knowledge of the clinical and radiological parameters associated with disease severity might be useful to guide clinical decision-making for COVID-19 patients without comorbidities.

Case ReportsAttenuation of COVID-19-induced cytokine storm in a young male patient with severe respiratory and neurological symptoms.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the etiological agent of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), produces protean manifestations and causes indiscriminate havoc in multiple organ systems. This rapid and vast production of proinflammatory cytokines contributes to a condition termed cytokine storm. A 35-year-old, otherwise healthy, employed, male patient was tested positive for COVID-19. ⋯ On account of these conditions and the need for noninvasive/invasive ventilation, a combination treatment with baricitinib and remdesivir in conjunction with standard of care was initiated. The cytokine storm was rapidly blocked, leading to a vast pulmonary recovery with retarded recovery of the central nervous system. We conclude that the rapid blockade of the COVID-19-induced cytokine storm should be considered of avail as a principle of careful decision-making for effective recovery.
