Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEffects of single-task versus dual-task training on balance performance in older adults: a double-blind, randomized controlled trial.
To compare the effect of 3 different approaches to balance training on dual-task balance performance in older adults with balance impairment. ⋯ Dual-task training is effective in improving gait speed under dual-task conditions in elderly participants with balance impairment. Training balance under single-task conditions may not generalize to balance control during dual-task contexts. Explicit instruction regarding attentional focus is an important factor contributing to the rate of learning and the retention of the dual-task training effect.

Case ReportsUlnar nerve compression neuropathy at Guyon's canal caused by crutch walking: case report with ultrasonographic nerve imaging.
This report is the first account of Guyon's syndrome after the bilateral use of forearm crutches. Crutch palsy is usually neuropraxic in nature and associated with clinical and electrophysiologic recovery of nerve function, especially if patients are instructed to not bear excessive weight on the wrist. ⋯ In establishing the diagnosis of a focal compression neuropathy, a combination of clinical assessment and neurophysiologic studies are typically used. This report describes the additional application of ultrasound imaging to verify the diagnosis and to track changes in the appearance of the nerve during follow-up.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe immediate effects of mobilization technique on pain and range of motion in patients presenting with unilateral neck pain: a randomized controlled trial.
To determine the immediate effects on both pain and active range of motion (ROM) of the unilateral posteroanterior (PA) mobilization technique on the painful side in mechanical neck pain patients presenting with unilateral symptoms. ⋯ The results of this study did not provide support for the preference of the unilateral PA mobilization on the painful side to the random mobilization.

The effects of scapulothoracic bursa injections in patients with scapular pain: a pilot study.
To assess the effects of steroid plus hyaluronate injections for scapulothoracic bursitis in patients with scapular pain. ⋯ Scapulothoracic bursitis should be considered when treating patients with perimarginal scapular pain or subscapular pain. Our findings show that steroid plus hyaluronate injections into the scapulothoracic bursa provide an effective means of treating patients with scapulothoracic bursitis.

A prospective outcome study on the effects of facet joint radiofrequency denervation on pain, analgesic intake, disability, satisfaction, cost, and employment.
To assess the effect of radiofrequency denervation (RFD) on patients with chronic low back pain (LBP) of facet joint origin. ⋯ RFD provides safe and significant short-term improvement in pain, analgesic requirements, function, satisfaction, and direct costs in patients with chronic LBP of facet origin.
