Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyComparison of Peritendinous Hyaluronan Injections Versus Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy in the Treatment of Painful Achilles' Tendinopathy: A Randomized Clinical Efficacy and Safety Study.
To compare the safety and efficacy of hyaluronan (HA) injections with standard extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) in the treatment of painful midportion Achilles' tendinopathy. ⋯ Two peritendinous HA injections showed greater treatment success in Achilles' midportion tendinopathy compared with standard ESWT.

Randomized Controlled TrialAddition of a Sagittal Cervical Posture Corrective Orthotic Device to a Multimodal Rehabilitation Program Improves Short- and Long-Term Outcomes in Patients With Discogenic Cervical Radiculopathy.
To investigate the immediate and 1-year effects of a multimodal program, with cervical lordosis and anterior head translation (AHT) rehabilitation, on the intensity of pain, disability, and peripheral and central nervous system function in patients with discogenic cervical radiculopathy (CR). ⋯ The addition of the Denneroll cervical orthotic device to a multimodal program positively affected discogenic CR outcomes at long-term follow-up. We speculate that improved cervical lordosis and reduced AHT contributed to our findings.

Randomized Controlled TrialSwimming Improves Pain and Functional Capacity of Patients With Fibromyalgia: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
To evaluate the effect of swimming on pain, functional capacity, aerobic capacity, and quality of life in patients with fibromyalgia (FM). ⋯ Swimming, like walking, is an effective method for reducing pain and improving both functional capacity and quality of life in patients with FM.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of Leg-Press Training With Moderate Vibration on Muscle Strength, Pain, and Function After Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
To examine the effects of a time-saving leg-press training program with moderate vibration on strength parameters, pain, and functional outcomes of patients after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in comparison with functional physiotherapy. ⋯ Isokinetic leg-press training with moderate vibration and functional physiotherapy are both effective in regaining muscle strength and function after TKA; however, isokinetic leg-press training is considerably less time consuming.

Randomized Controlled TrialAdditional Effects of a Physical Therapy Protocol on Headache Frequency, Pressure Pain Threshold, and Improvement Perception in Patients With Migraine and Associated Neck Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
To evaluate the additional effect provided by physical therapy in migraine treatment. ⋯ We cannot assume that physical therapy promotes additional improvement in migraine treatment; however, it can increase the cervical pressure pain threshold, anticipate clinically relevant changes, and enhance patient satisfaction.
