Observational StudyPituitary dysfunction after aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage: course and clinical predictors-the HIPS study.
We describe the occurrence and course of anterior pituitary dysfunction (PD) after aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH), and identify clinical determinants for PD in patients with recent SAH. ⋯ Almost 40% of SAH survivors have PD. In a small but substantial proportion of patients GHD or gonadotropin deficiency persists over time. Hydrocephalus is independently associated with PD 6 months after SAH.

VSARICHS: a simple grading scale for vascular structural abnormality-related intracerebral haemorrhage.
Vascular structural abnormality-related intracerebral haemorrhage (VSARICH) accounts for 10-20% of cases of intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH), but none of the grading scales for primary ICH are reliable for VSARICH. This study aimed to propose a grading scale based on clinical and anatomical parameters to predict short-term clinical outcome. ⋯ VSARICHS appears to be a reliable clinical scoring system that may prove useful for guiding risk stratification, clinical treatment and research.

Distinct phenotypes of speech and voice disorders in Parkinson's disease after subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation.
To elucidate the phenotypes and pathophysiology of speech and voice disorders in Parkinson's disease (PD) with subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS). ⋯ Stuttering and breathy voice can be aggravated by STN-DBS, but are mainly due to aging or PD itself. Strained voice and spastic dysarthria are considered corticobulbar side effects.

The network topology of aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage.
Network analysis is an emerging tool for the study of complex systems. In the current report, the cascade of physiological and neurological changes following aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) was modelled as a complex system of interacting parameters. Graph theoretical analysis was then applied to identify parameters at critical topological junctions of the network, which may represent the most effective therapeutic targets. ⋯ Using graph theoretical analysis, we identify critical network topologies following SAH, which may serve as useful therapeutic targets. Importantly, we demonstrate that network analysis is a robust method to model complex interactions following SAH.
