The impact of antiplatelet and antithrombotic regimen after TAVI: Data from the VIenna CardioThOracic Aortic Valve RegistrY (VICTORY).
We compared the outcomes and adverse events of TAVI patients based on the discharge and long-term antiplatelet or anticoagulant treatment regimens (single antiplatelet [SAPT] vs. dual antiplatelet [DAPT] vs. anticoagulation [OAC] vs. no treatment [NT]). ⋯ The lower all-cause mortality for DAPT within the first year and N-VKAs over VKA within the first 3 years warrant considerable attention in further recommendations of antithrombotic and anticoagulation regimens after TAVI.

Review Meta AnalysisImmunoglobulin, nucleos(t)ide analogs and hbv recurrence after liver transplant: a meta-analysis.
Prophylaxis with hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) represents an efficient strategy for reducing the risk of hepatitis B virus (HBV) recurrence after liver transplantation (LT). Unfortunately, the long-term use of HBIG presents high costs. Therefore, the use of prophylaxis based only on nucleos(t)ide analogues (NUC) has been recently postulated. The present meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the impact of HBIG ± NUC vs HBIG alone or NUC alone in post-LT HBV recurrence prophylaxis. ⋯ Prophylaxis with HBIG is relevant in preventing post-LT HBV recurrence. Its combination with NUC gives the best results in terms of protection. The present results should be considered in light of the fact that also old studies based on lamivudine use were included. Studies exploring in detail high genetic barrier-to-recurrence NUC and protocols with definite use of HBIG are needed.

Review Meta AnalysisA systematic review of the correlation between serum asymmetric dimethylarginine, carotid atherosclerosis and ischemic stroke.
To investigate the correlation between serum asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and the risk of ischaemic stroke and carotid atherosclerosis in adults. ⋯ The serum ADMA may be related to ischaemic stroke, and it is a risk factor for carotid atherosclerosis.

ReviewClinical prediction of genotypes in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: A Systematic Review.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common inherited cardiac condition and the most common cause of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in patients below the age of 35. Genetic testing is a vital part of HCM diagnostics, yet correlation with clinical phenotypes remains complex. Identifying clinical predictors of informative genetic testing may prevent unnecessary investigations and improve cost-effectiveness of services. This article reviews the current literature pertinent to identifying such predictors. ⋯ Using clinical predictors to decide whom to test is a feasible alternative to investigating all comers. Nonetheless, currently there is not enough evidence to unequivocally recommend for or against this strategy. Further validation of current predictors and identification of new ones remain open research avenues.
