Case Reports
Clinical and pathology analysis of 1 case of adult pleural pulmonary blastoma: A case report.
Pulmonary blastoma is a rare primary lung cancer that can be categorized into adult type and child type. The clinical symptoms and imaging features of pulmonary blastoma are nonspecific, making it difficult to diagnose preoperatively. Postoperative pathology with immunohistochemical staining can help diagnosis. ⋯ Pleural pulmonary blastoma is a malignant tumor with rare pathological features that is easy to relapse and metastasis with poor prognosis. Surgical treatment preferably, lobectomy plus mediastinal lymph node dissection, is the first treatment option. The overall prognosis is poor.

Cisplatin-induced sudden cardiac death with hemodynamic collapse: a severe adverse drug reaction: Case report.
Cisplatin is responsible for a significant percentage of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in oncology setting. A great proportion of cisplatin-induced severe adverse events are difficult to foresee, and giving premedication does not always prevent the occurrence of such events. ⋯ Cisplatin therapy should be thoroughly monitored including electrolyte, especially magnesium levels. Absence of previous ADRs to cisplatin and premedication should not give false sense of security.

Amelanotic malignant melanoma (AMM) is a rare subtype of malignant melanoma (MM) that manifests atypically and is easily misdiagnosed or missed altogether. The keloid type of AMM has rarely been reported. Herein, we provide information to improve the clinical diagnosis of AMM types and raise awareness to ensure early diagnosis and timely treatment. ⋯ Early AMM diagnosis has a very significant effect on prognosis. For some persistent and growing proliferative lesions, obliterative treatments should be avoided before a definitive histopathological diagnosis has been made.

Chronic progressive external ophthalmoplegia (CPEO) is a classical mitochondrial ocular disorder characterized by bilateral progressive ptosis and ophthalmoplegia. Kearns -Sayre syndrome (KSS) is a multisystem disorder with PEO, cardiac conduction block, and pigmentary retinopathy. A few individuals with CPEO have other manifestations of KSS, but do not meet all the clinical diagnosis criteria, and this is called "CPEO plus." ⋯ This is the first report of 2 rRNA mutations in a patient with MRI findings showing global brain atrophy, particularly in brainstem and cerebellum areas. Early recognition and appropriate treatment is crucial. This case highlights the cerebellar ataxia can occur in CPEO plus.

Situs inversus totalis is a rare anomaly disease in which the organs in the chest and abdomen are positioned in a mirror image reversal of normal positions. Although this has been confirmed to be associated with spinal abnormalities, reports about situs inversus totalis with congenital scoliosis remain limited. ⋯ Growing rods technique could be a safe and effective alternative for the treatment of scoliosis associated with situs inversus totalis. In the correction of left-sided lumbar curve of this kind of patients, the risks of aorta impingements should not be neglected when placing pedicle screws on the concave sides.
