Case Reports
A novel use of virtual reality in the treatment of cognitive and motor deficit in spinal cord injury: A case report.
Aim of this study is to evaluate the cognitive and motor outcomes after a combined rehabilitative training using a standard cognitive approach and virtual reality (VR), in a patient with spinal cord injury (SCI). ⋯ Virtual reality can be considered a promising tool for the rehabilitation of different neurological disorders, including patients with both motor and cognitive deficits following SCI.

Prostate cancer often metastasizes (most commonly to the pelvic lymph nodes and axial skeleton); however, metastases to the pelvic cavity as a solitary mass are unusual. While metastatic prostate cancer is unconventional in pelvic cavity, cystic pelvic lesions are even more scarce. Accurate identification of cystic metastasis can be helpful in management of prostate cancer. ⋯ Although cystic prostate cancer is rare, the occurrence possibility should be considered when cystic lesions are accompanied with prostate cancer.

Extrahepatic metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) may cause a diagnostic problem. All 195 cases of histologic and immunostained sections were reviewed retrospectively in one center. The expression of arginase-1 (Arg-1), hepatocyte paraffin-1 (HepPar-1), glypican-3 (GPC-3), and α-Fetoprotein (AFP) was evaluated. ⋯ These data suggest that the panel of ARG-1, GPC-3, HepPar-1 and AFP has a high sensitivity and specificity to differentiate HCC from non-HCC. This study indicated that HCC should be considered when diagnosing metastasis of unclear origin. It is recommended to use the panel of ARG-1, GPC-3, HepPar-1 and AFP to differentiate HCC from non-HCC in extrahepatic metastasis, because of their sensitivity and specificity, especially in poorly differentiated lesions.

Intracranial hemorrhage after carotid artery stenting in both anterior and posterior circulation: A case report.
Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) after carotid artery stenting (CAS) is a rare but fatal complication, and it primarily occurs in the corresponding vascular distribution area. Herein, a case of ICH after CAS in both anterior and posterior circulation has been described. ⋯ Hypertension is still one of the causes of ICH after CAS. The control of perioperative BP in patients with severe carotid stenosis is yet a major concern.

Laparoscopic port site metastases are a rare but clinically important cause of biochemically recurrent prostate adenocarcinoma. C-11 choline, among other prostate-specific positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers, has improved radiologist confidence in these otherwise difficult-to-detect sites of recurrence. ⋯ Port site metastases in prostate adenocarcinoma are rare; however, those who treat prostate cancer patients should be aware of this phenomenon as the number of minimally invasive oncologic procedures increase. C-11 choline PET, among other prostate-specific PET probes, has become an important tool in evaluating patients with biochemically recurrent prostate adenocarcinoma, identifying site-specific metastases in a majority of patients.
