A few studies using diffusion tensor tractography (DTT) have demonstrated recovery of injured corticoreticulospinal tract (CRT) in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage and infarct. However, no study reported on a patient who showed peri-infarct reorganization of an injured CRT following a middle cerebral artery territory infarct. ⋯ The recovery process of injured CRTs concurrent with recovery of leg weakness was demonstrated in a patient with SAH using DTT. This study has important implications in terms of regaining gait function by the recovery of bilaterally injured CRTs which was facilitated by the long-term rehabilitation.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of vision loss in adults of working age. Although existing systematic reviews of the prevalence of DR for mainland China have been reported, but several studies have been newly reported. Further some potential factors for DR are still discrepant and inconclusive. The aim of current research is to identify relevant literature regarding the prevalence of DR and DR-related factors in mainland China. In addition, we will project the number of individuals affected with DR in mainland China in years 2030 and 2050. ⋯ The study will give an explicit evidence to provide preventative measures of DR.PROSPERO registration number: CRD42018094565.

Successful pregnancy and delivery in uremic patients with maintenance hemodialysis: A case report.
It is reported that successful pregnancies in dialyzed uremic women are rare. Over the past years, despite advances in clinical management and technology in dialysis for pregnancy in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis, uremia remains a high risk factor for adverse outcomes in mother and fetus. ⋯ Intensive dialysis, detailed management and multidisciplinary approaches are necessary for optimal outcomes in uremic pregnant mother and fetus.

Foreign body (FB) aspiration in adults is occasionally encountered. The aspiration and impaction of a coin in the lower respiratory tract is an unusual accident. This report presents 2 rare adult cases of FB aspiration with coin impaction in larynx and trachea, respectively. ⋯ During FB removal, the coin should be positioned parallel to the vocal cords during its retrieval through the glottis. Due attention must be paid to avoid asphyxia due to positional changes of the coin in the trachea. Early diagnosis and intervention is the key in such cases as delay can cause catastrophic complications.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of a retrograde transpubic screw fixation assisted by a screw-view model of navigation in treating a pelvic fracture. ⋯ The outcome of our study suggests that the screw-view model of navigation maximizes the retrograde transpubic screw insertion accuracy in the treatment of a pubic ramus fracture, which is made efficient by pain relief and early out-of-bed mobilization. Our suggestion is, therefore, that the relative position between the pubic ramus and the patient tracker must be static to ensure the accuracy of the entire system throughout the operation.
