Palmar hyperhidrosis (PH) is a common sympathetic disorder that reduces patient' quality of life. Video-assisted thoracoscopic sympathectomy (VTS) is a popular and effective treatment for PH. However, there is substantial controversy about the treatment of PH with VTS at the T3 or T4 level. We will compare the quality metrics of VTS at T3 versus T4 to determine the optimal level for VTS. ⋯ CRD42018116607.

The potential relationship between coronary artery calcium (CAC) and colorectal adenoma has been widely indicated. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the risk of colorectal adenoma and CAC progression in asymptomatic Korean adults who underwent serial assessments by colonoscopy and CAC scan. A total of 754 asymptomatic participants, who had undergone serial CAC scans and colonoscopies for screening, were enrolled. ⋯ The interaction between CAC progression and adenoma at index colonoscopy was significant in multivariable model (P = .005). In the ROC analysis, AUC of CAC progression for adenoma at follow-up colonoscopy was 0.625 (95% CI 0.567-0.684, P < .001) in participants with adenoma at index colonoscopy. Participants with CAC progression, who are at high risk of coronary atherosclerosis, may need to be considered for follow-up evaluation of colorectal adenoma, especially those with adenoma at index colonoscopy.

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a common soft tissue sarcoma in children with high malignancy. The prognosis of refractory recurrent RMS is extremely poor, and the 5-year survival rate is less than 20%. ⋯ CD56-CAR-T cell therapy is a safe and effective approach and may be an option for children with solid tumors who are nonresponsive to conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy, or are unsuitable for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

To assess the efficacy and safety of the Wenyang Huoxue method for patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. ⋯ Despite of the apparently positive findings, the quality of GRADE is not high, suggesting that the Wenyang Huoxue method can improve nerve conduction velocity to a certain extent, but more rigorous literature is needed to support this evidence.

Comparison of prognostic ability of perioperative myocardial biomarkers in acute type A aortic dissection.
Stanford type A aortic dissection (AD) is a lethal disease requiring surgery. Evidence regarding the prognostic ability of perioperative myocardiac markers on long-term outcome is limited. In this cohort study, we measured perioperative myocardiac markers level in 583 surgical patients with type A AD in our hospital between 2015 and 2017. ⋯ None of cardiac markers was significantly associated with long-term outcome independent of other factors. Perioperative myocardiac predicts early outcome in type A AD patients undergoing surgery. Increasing perioperative myocardial markers do not appear to be a predictor for long-term all-cause mortality.
