Investigation of burnout syndrome among electrical and building technology undergraduate students in Nigeria.
The investigation of burnout among undergraduate students is yet to receive the same amount of attention as burnout in employees. Despite the negative effects of burnout among students, there is dearth of literature on burnout problem among electrical and building technology undergraduate students. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the burnout levels and the effect of rational-emotive behavior therapy (REBT) on symptoms of burnout among electrical and building technology undergraduate students in South-East zone of Nigeria. ⋯ The current study suggests that an REBT program can be effective for dealing with burnout syndrome among the population of undergraduate students of electrical and building technology in Nigeria.

Controversy still exists regarding the efficiency and safety of ilioinguinal/iliohypogastric nerve (II/IH) block versus transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block for pain management after inguinal hernia repair. The purpose of the current meta-analysis was to perform a relatively credible and comprehensive assessment to compare the efficiency and safety of II/IH versus TAP for pain management after inguinal hernia repair. ⋯ In general, this meta-analysis revealed that both approaches have similar postoperative opioid consumption and no significant difference in postoperative complication and patient satisfaction. The II/IH block provides excellent analgesic effects at 6 and 8 hours after inguinal herniorrhaphy in compared with the TAP block. However, more high-quality randomized controlled trials with long-term follow-up are still required to make the conclusion.

Incidence and outcomes of cricothyrotomy in the "cannot intubate, cannot oxygenate" situation.
Few data are available regarding factors that impact cricothyrotomy use and outcome in general hospital setting. The aim of the present study was to determine the incidence and outcomes of the patients underwent cricothyrotomy in a "cannot intubate, cannot oxygenate" (CICO) situation at university hospitals in Korea. This was a retrospective review of the electronic medical records of consecutive patients who underwent cricothyrotomy during a CICO situation between March, 2007, and October, 2018, at 2 university hospitals in Korea. ⋯ After failure of cricothyrotomy, various methods of securing airway were established: 3 tracheal intubations, 1 nasotracheal intubation, and 1 tracheostomy. The success rate of cricothyrotomy and survival rate in the CICO situation were not high. After failure of cricothyrotomy, various methods of securing airway were performed.

Acupuncture vs sham acupuncture for simple obesity: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Obesity is a growing chronic health problem worldwide. Studies about acupuncture for obesity treatment are many. But there are some doubts about the effectiveness of acupuncture vs sham acupuncture in treating obesity due to its lack of an evidence-based medical proof. Therefore, the aim of this study is to assess the efficacy of acupuncture for obesity treatment and provide clinic evidence. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42019129825.

Incidence and risk factors for epidural morphine induced pruritus in parturients receiving cesarean section: A prospective multicenter observational study.
This study is designed to clarify the incidence of epidural morphine induced pruritus (EMIP) in Chinese Han and Tibetan parturients after cesarean section (CS) and to identify the correlated risk factors. This is a prospective multicenter observational study. Follow-up evaluations were performed at 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, and 48 hours after morphine administration. ⋯ In conclusion, EMIP incidence in our study was 18.6%. Positive medical history of allergy and not using serotonin receptor antagonist were potential risk factors of EMIP development. Trial registration: ChiCTR-OPC-17012345.
