The aim of this study was to investigate the efficiency of endovascular graft exclusion for treating Stanford type B acute aortic dissection (AAD) in aged population. Forty-six consecutive patients aged ≥65 years with Stanford type B AAD underwent endovascular therapy in Tianjin Chest Hospital between 2010and 2015 were included in this study. All patients received echocardiography, contrast-enhanced CT, hepatic and renal functions tests, and the blood and urine routine examinations. ⋯ Among the 5 cases, 2 showed perioperative death induced by cerebral infarction, 1 died because of newly developed AD 8 months after surgery, and 2 died because of acute myocardial infarction (n = 1) and renal/cardiac failure (n = 1). The other 41 patients (89.13%) were symptom-free with satisfactory conditions. Endovascular stent-graft placement was effective for treating the senior patients with Stanford type B AAD.

The management of complete obstruction of anastomosis following colorectal surgery is challenging. Some modified minimally invasive methods have been reported to be successfully implemented in some cases. In this case report, we present a case to share our experience. ⋯ Endoscopic small incision with a needle knife along with balloon dilation could be an alternative method for patients with complete obstruction of anastomosis after colorectal resection. But this procedure should be performed with great caution in selected patients and performed only by highly experienced endoscopists.

Although the association between perceived stress and psychological distress has been demonstrated, the mechanism behind the association is not well understood in physicians. The purpose of this study was to examine how coping styles (positive and negative) mediated the association between perceived stress and psychological distress among Chinese physicians. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Liaoning Province, China, between October and December 2017. ⋯ For psychological distress and its 3 dimensions (depression, anxiety, and reduced self-affirmation), the proportions of mediating roles of coping styles were 26.1%, 29.9%, 24.8%, and 22.7%, respectively. Perceived stress had positive effects on psychological distress, and coping style was a mediator in this relationship among Chinese physicians. In addition to reducing stress in clinical practice, appropriate coping styles should be adopted in psychological distress prevention and treatment strategies.

Traditional Chinese medicine on treating epididymitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis protocol.
Epididymitis is a common disease in nonspecific infections of the male reproductive system according to the clinical incidence of acute epididymitis and chronic epididymitis. Many clinical trials have proven that Chinese medicine has a significant effect in the treatment of epididymitis. In this systematic review, we aim to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for epididymitis. ⋯ This systematic review will evaluate the efficacy and safety of TCM for treating epididymitis. Because all of the data used in this systematic review and meta-analysis has been published, this review does not require ethical approval. Furthermore, all data will be analyzed anonymously during the review process.Registration number: PROSPERO CRD42019130569.

The mechanisms of acupuncture on the treatment of cerebral infarction remain unclear, the aim of the present study was to provides a protocol of systematic review and meta-analysis, with which we will collect clinical evidence to verify whether acupuncture will have an effect on reducing the levels of tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-1 (IL-1), and interleukin (IL-6) after cerebral infarction based on evidence-based studies. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42017078583.
