Insignifificant, asymmetrical or lack of labial tubercle often occurs after cleft lip surgery due to improper treatment of vermilion tissue. Especially in the cases of bilateral cleft lip, because of short front lip and insuffificient vermilion tissue, the median vermilion depression often occurs after surgery, forming a "whistling" deformity. The object of this study is to verify the outcomes of patients with median labial tubercle detects after treatment with bilateral vermilion musculomucosal sliding flflaps (VMSF). ⋯ Reconstructing MVTD and eliminating whistling deformity using the scar tissues that need to be removed previously on the vermilion musculomucosa has achieved stable and satisfactory results and is worthy of clinical application.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a malignancy that severely threatens human health and carries a high incidence rate and a low 5-year survival rate. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are commonly accepted as a key regulatory function in human cancer, but the potential regulatory mechanisms of miRNA-mRNA related to ESCC remain poorly understood. The GSE55857, GSE43732, and GSE6188 miRNA microarray datasets and the gene expression microarray datasets GSE70409, GSE29001, and GSE20347 were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus databases. ⋯ Hsa-miR-9-3p, hsa-miR-34c-3p and FOS were related to patient prognosis and higher expression of the transcripts were associated with a poor OS in patients with ESCC. Our study revealed the miRNA-mediated hub genes regulatory network as a model for predicting the molecular mechanism of ESCC. This may provide novel insights for unraveling the pathogenesis of ESCC.

This study aimed to analyze the influence of the radiation field size on the passing rate of the treatment planning system using MatriXX if the field irradiated the circuit. Two sets of static fields which were 10 cm and 30 cm in the left-right direction (X), and was 31 cm to 40 cm in gun-target direction (Y) were designed. In these fields, the gantry was 0 and the monitor units were 200 MU. ⋯ The results showed that with the increase of the radiation field size in the Y direction, more areas were irradiated in the circuit, and the passing rate gradually decreases and dropped sharply at a certain threshold. After putting lead alloys above the circuit, the passing rate was much better in the static field but was still less than 90% in the second patient volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) because the circuit was irradiate in other directions. In daily QA, we should pay attention to these patients with long size tumor.

The risk factors of shunt-dependent hydrocephalus after subarachnoid space hemorrhage of intracranial aneurysms.
Shunt-dependent hydrocephalus is a common complication of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) which indicated intensive care unit stay and unfavorable outcome. Our aim is to study the risk factors of shunt-dependent hydrocephalus after aneurysmal subarachnoid space hemorrhage. Patients with intracranial aneurysms treated in our department from January 2014 to October 2018 were included in the study. ⋯ Moreover, shunt dependency was related to longer hospital stay and unfavorable outcome (P < .05). In conclusion, patients older than 60, GCS 3 to 8, Hunt-Hess 3 to 5, and posterior circulation aneurysm need more strict observation and longer follow-up. Timely and appropriate treatment may benefit patients in recovery, while further exploration is still needed in the future.

The global prevalence of Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is estimated to be as high as 15% and a number of different non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatments have been used to manage IBS in clinical practice, which poses great challenges for clinicians to make appropriate decisions. Hence, a systematic review and network meta-analysis on all available pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for IBS is needed to provide reliable evidence. ⋯ CRD42018083844.
