Comparison of dexmedetomidine with midazolam for dental surgery: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Dexmedetomidine and midazolam have become important approaches for the sedation of dental surgery. However, the comparison of these 2 drugs for the sedation of dental surgery has not been well established. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of dexmedetomidine versus midazolam for dental surgery. ⋯ Similar benefits of dexmedetomidine and midazolam intervention are observed for the sedation of dental surgery in terms of SpO2, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, and the volume of local anesthetic, but dexmedetomidine may result in more stable diastolic blood pressure.

Reduning injection combined with western medicine for pneumonia: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Pneumonia is a common respiratory disease. In severe cases, it can induce cardiovascular disease and even life-threatening. In particular, pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) that broke out at the end of 2019 has seriously affected the health of people in all countries. In recent years, it has been treated with the combination of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) (such as Reduning injection) and Western medicine, and its mortality has decreased significantly. But their efficacy has not been scientifically and systematically assessed. Accordingly, it is essential to provide a systematized review program to estimate the efficacy and safety of Reduning injection combined with Western medicine to treat pneumonia. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/VS75Y.

The adverse effects of novel coronavirus on diabetic foot patients: A protocol for systematic review and meta analysis.
Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus in 2019, the number of new coronavirus infections worldwide has been increasing, there is no effective treatment or vaccine. Novel coronavirus infection is closely related todiabetes, the mortality of diabetes with novel coronavirus pneumonia is significantly higher than that of non diabetic with novel coronavirus pneumonia, Diabetic foot is one of the common and serious complications of diabetes, however, no systematic study on novel coronavirus pneumonia adverse effects on diabetic foot has been found at home and abroad, however, this is a problem that can not be ignored. ⋯ 202080113.

Comparison of hemostatic agents in patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage: A protocol for a network meta-analysis.
Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH) is a serious stroke subtype. The effective therapies for patients with sICH are still unclear, and the role of hemostatic agents in sICH is still unclear. Although some studies have shown that hemostatic agents could benefit patients with sICH, different hemostatic drugs have different effects on patients with sICH, and which hemostatic drug has the best effect on the prevention of hematoma expansion and neurological deterioration in sICH patients remains unclear. To better understand the effects of hemostatic agents in patients with sICH, it is necessary to carry out a network meta-analysis to comprehensively compare the effects of different hemostatic agents. ⋯ CRD42020196039.

Review Case Reports
Hyperacute extensive spinal cord infarction and negative spine magnetic resonance imaging: a case report and review of the literature.
Spinal cord infarction (SCI) accounts for only 1% to 2% of all ischemic strokes and 5% to 8% of acute myelopathies. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) holds a role in ruling out non-ischemic etiologies, but the diagnostic accuracy of this procedure may be low in confirming the diagnosis, even when extensive cord lesions are present. Indeed, T2 changes on MRI can develop over hours to days, thus accounting for the low sensitivity in the hyperacute setting (ie, within 6 hours from symptom onset). For these reasons, SCI remains a clinical diagnosis. Despite extensive diagnostic work-up, up to 20% to 40% of SCI cases are classified as cryptogenic. Here, we describe a case of cryptogenic longitudinally extensive transverse myelopathy due to SCI, with negative MRI and diffusion-weighted imaging at 9 hours after symptom onset. ⋯ Regardless of its relatively low frequency in the general population, SCI should be suspected in every patient presenting with acute and progressive myelopathic symptoms, even in the absence of vascular risk factors. Thus, a clinical presentation consistent with a potential vascular syndrome involving the spinal cord overrides an initially negative MRI and should not delay timely and appropriate management.
