Efficacy of belt electrode skeletal muscle electrical stimulation on muscle flexibility of lower limbs: A randomized controlled pilot trial.
Muscular contracture may be caused by immobility-induced muscle atrophy and skeletal muscle hypoxia. Belt electrode skeletal muscle electrical stimulation (B-SES) is a new type of neuromuscular electrical stimulation that can simultaneously contract the lower limb muscle groups, in contrast to the conventional pad-type electrodes. B-SES can suppress muscular atrophy and relieve hypoxia of the skeletal muscle and is considered an appropriate strategy for preventing muscular contracture. However, the effect of B-SES on muscle flexibility has not been verified. This study aimed to compare the immediate effects of B-SES on skeletal muscle flexibility using different stimulation modes before the clinical study. ⋯ Metabolic B-SES was effective for the immediate improvement of flexibility of the lower limb muscles. Therefore, Metabolic B-SES may be useful as a strategy for preventing muscular contracture.

The clinical epidemiological characteristics of chronic urticaria (CU) in different populations were not completely consistent, and the epidemiological characteristics of CU were very complex. At present, there were some patient-based studies on CU, but few natural population-based studied in the world. This study aimed to analysis the prevalence of self-reported CU among adults in grasslands of northern China and its closely related factors. ⋯ Pollen dispersal season was basically consistent with the peak season of CU, but there was no significant difference in the positive rate of pollen SPT between CU with seasonal or seasonal aggravation symptom and CU with free of symptom (X = 0.425, P = .51), as well as between CU with seasonal or seasonal aggravation symptom and perennial CU (X = 0.439, P = .51). Eczema (odds ratio [OR] = 2.807, P < .001), chronic diarrhea (OR = 2.486, P < .01), food allergy history (OR = 1.890, P < .01), history of family allergy (OR = 1.800, P < .001), and conjunctivitis (OR = 1.749, P < .01) were closely related to CU. This investigation provided the factors closely related to CU, and provided certain ideas for further research on the etiology and prevention of CU.

The research describes willingness of urban and rural residents over age 40 to enter care homes and examines personal factors which impact their willingness. Trained investigators gathered survey responses on sociodemographic information, physical health status, lifestyle behaviors, willingness to enter care homes, and specific service needs. 34.8% of the 1186 survey participants expressed willingness to enter care homes, with lower percentage of rural residents (25.8%) expressing willingness compared to urban residents (41.6%). The decision to enter care homes is impacted by occupation for urban residents and education status for rural residents. Healthcare remains the top consideration when considering care homes.

Comparison of the intraoperative analgesic efficacy between ultrasound-guided deep and superficial serratus anterior plane block during video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy: A prospective randomized clinical trial.
The serratus anterior plane block (SAPB) is a novel method that provides lateral chest wall analgesia. There are 2 methods of SAPB; deep and superficial SAPB. Each of these methods has been demonstrated to provide effective perioperative analgesia in thoracic surgery. The aim of this study was to compare the intraoperative hemodynamic and analgesic benefits of deep versus superficial SAPB during video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) lobectomy. ⋯ Our study suggests that the intraoperative analgesic efficacy is similar for deep and superficial SAPB during VATS lobectomy.

Comparative efficacy of seven exercise interventions for symptoms of depression in college students: A network of meta-analysis.
Depression among college students is common, exercise interventions are valued as one of the most widely prescribed interventions for depressed college students, however, it is especially difficult for university administrators to determine which exercise intervention is most effective, and efficacy of exercise interventions among depressed college students have not been evaluated. ⋯ Tai chi exhibited the highest probability that became the most efficacy intervention among the comparions, and Yoga showed the second most effectiveness to alleviate depressive symptoms of depressed college students, and dance ranks the third, followed by run, volleyball, basketball, and badminton respectively.
