Review Case Reports
Intralobar pulmonary sequestration with cystic degeneration mimicking a bronchogenic cyst in an elderly patient: A case report and literature review.
Pulmonary sequestration (PS) is a rare congenital malformation defined as nonfunctioning lung tissue supplied by systemic circulation. It is uncommonly diagnosed in adults. Herein, we describe a clinical case of PS with cystic degeneration mimicking a bronchogenic cyst in an elderly patient. ⋯ PS should be considered as a differential diagnosis in patients with a cystic lung mass. Identification of a systemic artery on radiologic imaging is important in the diagnosis of PS before preoperative workup to prevent unpredicted massive bleeding during surgery.

Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is 1 of the most common diseases in orthopedics, which seriously affects people's daily life and brings a heavy burden on society and families. Chinese herbal medicine has been used in clinical practice for a long time and Duhuo Jisheng Decoction (DHJSD) is believed to help alleviate the symptoms of LDH. This systematic review aims to collect evidences from randomized clinical trials and evaluate the efficacy of DHJSD on LDH in order to provide a reference for clinicians and researchers. ⋯ CRD42019147302.

Small nucleolar RNA host gene 20 (SNHG20) is a newly identified long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). Accumulative evidence suggest that SNHG20 is highly related to tumorigenesis. However, whether the levels of SNHG20 can be used for prognosis of patients with different cancer types was unclear. The present study aims to explore the role of SNHG20 in tumor prognosis and its clinical significance. ⋯ Up-regulated SNHG20 predicts unfavorable prognosis for multiple kinds of cancers although further studies are in need to verify its clinical applications.

Ulinastatin is a type of glycoprotein and a nonspecific wide-spectrum protease inhibitor like antifibrinolytic agent aprotinin. Whether Ulinastatin has similar beneficial effects on blood conservation in cardiac surgical patients as aprotinin remains undetermined. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to evaluate the effects of Ulinastatin on perioperative bleeding and transfusion in patients who underwent cardiac surgery. ⋯ This meta-analysis has found some evidence showing that Ulinastatin reduces postoperative bleeding and RBC transfusion in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. However, these findings should be interpreted rigorously. Further well-conducted trials are required to assess the blood-saving effects and mechanisms of Ulinastatin.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of endoscopic surgery and Lichtenstein repair for treatment of inguinal hernias: A network meta-analysis.
This study aimed to identify the best procedure for addressing inguinal hernias by comparing results after transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP), totally extraperitoneal (TEP), and Lichtenstein repairs using a network meta-analysis. ⋯ Our network meta-analysis showed that there were no differences among the TAPP, TEP, and Lichtenstein procedures in terms of safety or effectiveness for treating inguinal hernias. However, TAPP and TEP could decrease the number of return-to-work days. A further study with more focus on this topic for inguinal hernia is suggested.
