Small nucleolar RNA host gene 20 (SNHG20) is a newly identified long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). Accumulative evidence suggest that SNHG20 is highly related to tumorigenesis. However, whether the levels of SNHG20 can be used for prognosis of patients with different cancer types was unclear. The present study aims to explore the role of SNHG20 in tumor prognosis and its clinical significance. ⋯ Up-regulated SNHG20 predicts unfavorable prognosis for multiple kinds of cancers although further studies are in need to verify its clinical applications.

Cemented versus uncemented hemi-arthroplasty for femoral neck fractures in elderly patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
To compare the efficacy and safety of cemented and uncemented hemiarthroplasty in elderly patients with femoral neck fracture. ⋯ Our study shows that uncemented prosthesis can shorten the operation time and reduce the incidence of pulmonary embolism, but it does not reduce mortality, blood loss, and hospital stay. Most importantly, the incidence of prosthetic-related complications was higher in uncemented patients.

Comparison of endoscopic surgery and Lichtenstein repair for treatment of inguinal hernias: A network meta-analysis.
This study aimed to identify the best procedure for addressing inguinal hernias by comparing results after transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP), totally extraperitoneal (TEP), and Lichtenstein repairs using a network meta-analysis. ⋯ Our network meta-analysis showed that there were no differences among the TAPP, TEP, and Lichtenstein procedures in terms of safety or effectiveness for treating inguinal hernias. However, TAPP and TEP could decrease the number of return-to-work days. A further study with more focus on this topic for inguinal hernia is suggested.

The prognostic role of Ki-67/MIB-1 in meningioma: A systematic review with meta-analysis.
Ki-67 is a typical immunohistochemical marker for cell proliferation. Higher expression of Ki-67 is correlated with poor clinical outcomes in several cancers. However, the prognostic value of Ki-67 on the prognosis of meningiomas is still controversial. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the prognostic value of Ki-67 in meningiomas. ⋯ Higher Ki-67 expression levels negatively influenced survival in meningiomas. A higher cutoff value (>4%) is more appropriate for prognosis prediction. It is highly recommended that Ki-67 expression profile could be assessed in meningiomas treatment for predicting survival. And patients with elevated expression of Ki-67 need to have close follow-ups.

Vonoprazan is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that is frequently used in Japan for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication, treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, and treatment of post endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) complications. We sought to determine if vonoprazan was superior to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for treating ESD-induced ulcers (as assessed by ulcer healing and shrinkage ratios) and preventing delayed bleeding over various treatment durations (2, 4, and 8 weeks). ⋯ During the first 2 weeks of treatment, vonoprazan was more effective than PPIs for treating H. pylori-positive patients with ESD-induced gastric ulcers.
