Meta Analysis
Impact of statin use on cancer-specific mortality and recurrence: A meta-analysis of 60 observational studies.
This meta-analysis mainly summarized the studies reporting an association between statin use and cancer-specific mortality and recurrence or progression of cancer patients. We systematically searched for studies about the statin used in cancer patients in electronic databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, Clinical Trials, from inception through the November 2019. A total of 60 studies which included 953,177 participants were eligible with 233,322 cancer patients used statin. ⋯ The meta-analysis demonstrated that statin use could exhibit potential survival benefit in the prognosis of cancer patients. But our results are conservative for statins to improve disease recurrence and progression. These findings should be assessed in a prospective randomized cohort.

The treatment of post-stroke depression (PSD) with anti-depressant drugs is partly practical. Transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) offers the potential for a novel treatment modality for adult patients with PSD. In this study, we will assess the efficacy and safety of tACS for treating PSD and explore its effect on gamma and beta-oscillations involving in emotional regulation. ⋯ The study will be the first randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tACS at a 77.5-Hz frequency and 15-mA current in reducing depressive severity in patients with PSD. The results of the study will present a base for future studies on the tACS in PSD and its possible mechanism.

Randomized Controlled Trial
The efficacy of jade moxibustion in knee osteoarthritis.
This study aims to compare clinical effect between Jade moxibustion and traditional moxibustion, and to determine the clinical effect of Jade moxibustion on knee osteoarthritis (KOA). ⋯ This randomized controlled trial used traditional moxibustion as a control group to provide rigorous evidence for the clinical efficacy and safety of Jade moxibustion in treatment of KOA.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder in women and can lead to serious social burdens associated with various reproductive and metabolic abnormalities. Studies have demonstrated that metformin can reduce liver glucose in PCOS, lower testosterone levels and increase peripheral insulin sensitivity. There has been also evidence suggesting acupuncture may influence ovulation (release of the egg) by affecting levels of various hormones. We will conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis is to compare the efficacy and safety of metformin with or without acupuncture in PCOS. ⋯ This study will systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Metformin combined with acupuncture in the treatment of PCOS, thus providing evidence to the clinical application of this combination therapy. The results will be published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Meta Analysis
Cotton dust exposure and risk of lung cancer: A meta-analysis of observational studies.
Findings on the association between cotton dust exposure and lung cancer risk in epidemiologic studies have been inconsistent. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis of data from observational studies to quantify this association. PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane library databases were searched for observational studies with data on cotton dust exposure and lung cancer risk. ⋯ Pooled estimates of multivariate RRs by gender were 0.71 (95% CI, 0.58-0.88; P = .001) among males, based on 7 studies, and 0.77 (95% CI, 0.67-0.89; P < .001) among females, based on 9 studies. Further analyses examining the influence of a single study on the results by omitting a study at each turn yielded a range of RR from 0.74 to 0.82. Our meta-analysis indicates that cotton dust exposure is associated with a decreased risk of lung cancer.
