Meandering pulmonary vein is a rare congenital pulmonary vascular anomaly. It presents unilateral single pulmonary vein that takes a circuitous route in the lung and drains normally into the left atrium. Most cases of meandering pulmonary vein have been reported to be right-sided. A few of them coincided with features of scimitar syndrome. ⋯ Meandering pulmonary veins can occur on the left side and coincide with features of scimitar syndrome. Multi-detector computed tomography with 3D reconstruction allows clear depiction of vascular connections and associated anomalies, obviating the need for invasive procedures.

Right atrial aneurysm (RAA) is a rare congenital heart disease (CHD) that usually shows no symptom and is discovered occasionally. This paper introduces the clinical and imaging data obtained in 2 RAA patients and presents a related literature review with the aim of increasing understanding of this disease. ⋯ RAA is a rare cardiac anomaly that can induce severe complications, and it is mainly diagnosed based on imaging examinations. Conservative treatment and regular imaging monitoring are recommended for asymptomatic patients with no high-risk factors, while surgical treatment should be performed in symptomatic patients with high-risk factors.

Tracheoesophageal Fistula (TF) is a rare complication of Bevacizumab. Thoracic radiotherapy may be a contributing factor to TF formation. To the best of our knowledge, we report the first case of Chinese patient with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who developed TF after completion of chemotherapy with bevacizumab and thoracic radiotherapy. ⋯ TF is a rare but life-threatening complication of bevacizumab. Careful observation is imperative for those patients who are administered bevacizumab, particularly in patients treated previously with thoracic radiotherapy.

While the role of early mobilization in the immediate postinfarction period has been well demonstrated, little is known in present about the link between early mobilization and reduction of systemic inflammation. At the same time, the impact of early mobilization on regression of left ventricular remodeling has not been elucidated so far. ⋯ In conclusion, REHAB will be the first trial that will elucidate the impact of early mobilization in the first period after AMI, as a first step of a complex cardiac rehabilitation program, to reduce systemic inflammation and prevent deleterious ventricular remodeling in patients who suffered a recent AMI.

Endotracheal intubation is an essential step for airway management during general anesthesia. When surgeons carry out thoracic surgery such as pneumonectomy, they usually request lung isolation to secure a clear surgical view. A double lumen endotracheal tube is used for lung isolation in routine thoracic surgeries. ⋯ This case led us to the conclusion that a DLT should be used for safety when carrying out thoracic surgery. We report a rare case of an airway obstruction using a SLT during pneumonectomy.
