Effect of Bicalutamide on the proliferation and invasion of human triple negative breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells.
Previous studies have shown androgen receptor (AR) is associated with the occurrence, development, recurrence, metastasis, and prognosis of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). More and more experts have noticed that AR signaling pathway plays an important role in the occurrence and development of TNBC. The purpose of this study is to detect the inhibitory efficacy and mechanism of Bicalutamide on the proliferation and invasion of TNBC cells. ⋯ Bicalutamide could efficiently inhibit the proliferation and invasion of MDA-MB-231 cells in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, Bicalutamide could significantly induce the cell cycle arrest at G0/G1 phase and decrease the protein expression of AR, cyclin D1, matrix metalloprotease-2 (MMP-2), and matrix metalloprotease-9 (MMP-9). The present study indicated the Bicalutamide inhibited the proliferation and invasion process of triple negative breast cancer cells by targeting AR signaling pathway and down-regulating MMP-2/-9 protein expression levels.

Fibromatoses or desmoid tumors are relatively rare tumors derived from the musculoaponeurotic system. This tumor has no specific clinical symptoms and it is sometimes misdiagnosed as other diseases such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). ⋯ To sum up, intra-abdominal fibromatosis is an extremely rare tumor that must be differentiated from other tumors of the digestive tract, and pathological and immunohistochemical examination is a critical part of the diagnosis. Early diagnosis of fibromatosis is essential for the outcome. Extensive resection of the mass minimizes the risk of relapse.

Suicide is a leading health issue, which substantially contributes to the causes of death worldwide. Personality traits are some of the major risk factors for suicidality. We sought to identify the relationships between personality traits and suicidality by age group. ⋯ Openness (1.25 [1.10-1.43]) had a positive association, and conscientiousness (0.86 [0.75-0.98]) had a negative association with suicidal ideation among the middle-aged group. Neuroticism is the only influencing factor for suicidal attempts among the young adult (1.88 [1.24-2.86]) and older (1.65 [1.24-2.20]) groups. Given the differential associations between personality traits and suicidality by age groups, future studies are needed to comprehensively identify possible roles of personality in suicide by age.

Comparison of short-term outcome between diverting colostomy and colonic stent as a bridge to surgery for left colonic malignant obstruction.
The self-expanding metallic stent (SEMS) has been comprehensively investigated as a bridge to surgery. SEMS enables the control of acute colonic obstruction. However, comparison between SEMS and diverting colostomy as another bridge procedure was still challenging issue. ⋯ Although SEMS might permit higher laparoscopic resection rates and faster recovery of bowel habits than diverting colostomy, SEMS showed meaningful failure rate including migration and perforation. In addition, diverting colostomy showed acceptable complication rates and feasible performance. An individualized approach is necessary considering the advantages and disadvantages of both procedures.

Efficacy and safety of rituximab in the treatment of membranous nephropathy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Rituximab (RTX) is considered to be a promising drug for curing membranous nephropathy. However, the efficacy and safety of RTX in treating membranous nephropathy remain uncertain. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of RTX in patients with membranous nephropathy. ⋯ RTX proved to be efficient, well-tolerated and a safe drug in the treatment of membranous nephropathy. Most patients reach complete remission during the follow-up period, and relapse is rare. RTX may turn out to be promising in membranous nephropathy patients.
