Previous studies evaluating the association of dietary fat and risk of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) yield discrepant results. The objective of this systematic review (SR) and meta-analysis is to establish whether an association exists between dietary fat and AMD. This protocol was developed in line with the quality requirements of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) statement. ⋯ The evidence would provide rationale for future research and serve as a basis for the development of future guidelines. Results are expected to be publicly available in mid 2020. PROSPERO registration number: CRD42019137086.

Diabetic macroangiopathy is a further complication of diabetes mellitus and is the leading cause of death for diabetic patients. Shenqi compound (SC) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula widely used in the treatment of diabetes and diabetic macroangiopathy. At present, there is only 1 systematic review on SC in the treatment of diabetes. However, no meta-analysis has evaluated the efficacy and safety of SC on diabetic macroangiopathy. ⋯ In this study, we will systematically evaluate the evidence of SC in the treatment of diabetic macroangiopathy. Our research is supposed to provide evidence-based support for clinical practice.

The development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is related to the T lymphocyte mediated inflammatory immune response and immune imbalance. The purpose of this systematic review was to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of acupoint application on T lymphocyte subsets in patients with COPD. ⋯ Acupoint application can improve the CD4/CD8 ratio and CD8 T-cells in patients with COPD and has an auxiliary effect in reducing the times of acute exacerbations and improving clinical efficacy.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of the association between dietary inflammatory index (DII) and upper aerodigestive tract cancer risk.
Epidemiological studies have reported an inconsistent relationship between dietary inflammatory index (DII) and upper aerodigestive tract (UADT) cancer risk. However, no systematic review or meta-analysis has been reported up to now. To quantify the association between DII and UADT cancer risk, we performed this meta-analysis. ⋯ This meta-analysis suggested that the most pro-inflammatory diets (the highest DII scores) are associated with increased UADT cancer risk. However, the association between DII and laryngeal cancer risk need to be further investigated.

Overall prevalence of human parvovirus B19 among blood donors in mainland China: A PRISMA-compliant meta-analysis.
Human parvovirus B19 (B19V) infection exhibits a broad range of clinical outcomes. Blood transfusion is a common route of B19V transmission. However, information about the overall prevalence of B19V infection and B19V genotypes among blood donors in mainland China is lacking. ⋯ The overall prevalence of B19V among blood donors is not high in mainland China, and most isolates belong to Genotype 1.
