Meta Analysis
Effects of hypertension in patients receiving mechanical thrombectomy: A meta-analysis.
Available evidence shows conflicting results with regard to a potential detrimental effect of hypertension on clinical outcomes in patients who undergo mechanical thrombectomy (MT). We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the impact of hypertension on the prognosis of patients with acute ischaemic stroke (AIS) treated by MT. ⋯ The present study confirms that hypertension and high blood pressure are associated with a poor outcome at 3 months after MT in AIS patients. However, the causal relationship between hypertension and a poor outcome remains undetermined, and further investigations are required to ascertain whether AIS patients receiving MT could benefit from intensive blood pressure control.

Multicenter Study
Efficacy and safety of valganciclovir in patients with symptomatic congenital cytomegalovirus disease: Study Protocol Clinical Trial (SPIRIT Compliant).
Congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) disease, a common mother-to-child infection, can lead to neurological sequelae. Some clinical trials have shown that oral valganciclovir (VGCV) can improve hearing and neurodevelopmental impairment in infants with congenital CMV disease. However, VGCV has neither been approved in Japan nor other countries as a treatment for this disease by the government health insurance. ⋯ To the best of our knowledge, this multicenter, open-label, single-arm study will be the first well-designed clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy of oral VGCV in infants with congenital CMV diseases. The findings will reveal the efficacy and safety of oral VGCV treatments and enable the approval of oral VGCV as a treatment for infants with congenital CMV disease by the government health insurance of Japan.

Traditional Chinese medicine Danggui Shaoyao San for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease: A Protocol for Systematic Review.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia. Traditional Chinese formula Danggui Shaoyao San (DSS) has been considered a potential therapeutic approach for AD. However, no systemic review regarding its efficacy and safety has been conducted. Herein, we propose a protocol for the study that aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of DSS in patients with AD. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42020150450.

Essential hypertension is a multifactorial disease, which is affected by genetic and environmental factors, and can cause diseases such as cerebrovascular disease, heart failure, coronary heart disease, and chronic renal failure. High salt intake is a risk factor for hypertension, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. Blood pressure variability (BPV) is a reliable independent predictor of cardiovascular events and death. At present, there are few studies about the correlation among high salt intake, BPV, and target organ damage (TOD) in patients with hypertension. ⋯ The purpose of this study is to compare 24-hour urine sodium excretion, BPV, carotid intima-media thickness, left ventricular mass index, and serum creatinine or endogenous creatinine clearance rate. To clarify the relationship between high salt load and BPV and TOD in patients with hypertension. This study is a cross-sectional study. It will recruit 600 patients with essential hypertension in the outpatient and inpatient department of cardiovascular medicine of Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital. Researchers will obtain blood and urine samples with the patient's informed consent. In addition, we will measure patient's blood pressure and target organ-related information.

Randomized Controlled Trial
A randomized controlled clinical study of acupuncture therapy for Seborrheic alopecia in young and middle ages: Study protocol clinical trial (SPIRIT compliant).
Seborrheic alopecia (SA) has clinical manifestations, duration of disease, and priorities. In the current situation where there are many and complicated clinical treatments, Western medicine treatment can delay and control the development of the disease and promote hair regeneration. However, some patients may aggravate symptoms after taking the drug, and the condition is easy to repeat after stopping the drug. Acupuncture is an important method for non-surgical treatment of SA, and it has various methods, low side effects, high safety, and simple and economical. Therefore, we will use a clinical randomized controlled study to explore the effect of acupuncture on SA, and provide a new idea and reference for the treatment of this disease. ⋯ This trial may provide evidence regarding the clinical effectiveness, safety, and cost-effectiveness of acupuncture for patients with SA.
