Previous studies have reported that docetaxel combined prednisone (DP) has been used for the treatment of patients with hormone refractory prostate cancer (HRPC). However, its results are still inconsistent. Therefore, this study will synthesize the latest evidence of the efficacy and safety of DP for the treatment of patients with HRPC. ⋯ The results of this study may provide helpful evidence of DP for the treatment of patients with HRPC.Systematic review registration: INPLASY202040112.

Case Reports
A case report of recurrent acute pancreatitis associated with life threatening atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome.
Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) is a thrombotic microangiopathy defined by the sudden onset of hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and acute kidney injury (AKI). HUS is categorized as either typical, caused by Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli infection, or atypical HUS (aHUS), usually complement mediated or secondary to systemic disease. We describe a rare case of aHUS in an adult male patient with recurrent acute pancreatitis. ⋯ Recurrent pancreatitis is suggested as the etiology of atypical HUS in this patient and this condition should be recognized and treated in a timely manner for optimal clinical outcomes.

Parental knowledge of moisturizers and their application to infants with eczema in Hangzhou, China.
Parental knowledge regarding the role of moisturizers in restoring the skin barrier, as well as regular and long-term use of moisturizers, is critical in the treatment of infantile eczema and the prevention of relapse. The parents of children with eczema were enrolled in this study. Their knowledge of the role, use, and effect of moisturizers on their children, as well as their concerns regarding moisturizers were surveyed. ⋯ Among parents of children who used moisturizers, 16.5% were worried about the side effects of moisturizers. Despite a fair level of knowledge about moisturizers, parents of children with eczema are using them inadequately. Pediatrician should be more patient to educate parents the information on the importance of moisturizers for the improvement of eczema and prevention of recurrence.

The present study investigated the effectiveness of a Carisolv III + 0.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)-based root canal irrigant for smear layer removal. Forty maxillary incisors were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 10 per group). The canals in group A (experimental) were prepared with 0.5% NaOCl, and Carisolv III and 0.5% NaOCl was used for the final washing; groups B and C (positive controls) used 2% and 5.25% NaOCl, respectively; and group D (negative control) used phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). ⋯ The 2% NaOCl solution showed similar results to 0.5% NaOCl + Carisolv III (P > .05). The combination of 5.25% NaOCl and 17% EDTA remains the most effective irrigant for removal of the root canal smear layer. A combination of Carisolv III + 0.5% NaOCl (with 17% EDTA) showed a cleaning ability similar to that of 2% NaOCl (with 17% EDTA).

The 95% effective dose of nalbuphine in patient-controlled intravenous analgesia for patients undergoing laparoscopic total hysterectomy compared to equivalent sufentanil.
To evaluate the 95% effective dose of nalbuphine in patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) by the sequential method and compare the analgesia efficacy with the equivalent dose of sufentanil on patients undergoing laparoscopic total hysterectomy. ⋯ Nalbuphine 1.78 mg/kg in PCIA is recommended for the patients undergoing laparoscopic total hysterectomy. And nalbuphine is a reasonable alternative to sufentanil when used in PCIA.
