Explosive power is a performance determinant in many sports activities. Vertical jump tests for assessing power output are widely employed. Accurate and reliable methods are needed to predict human power output using the widely employed vertical jump height. ⋯ A strong and high correlation was observed between the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients of the actual and predicted MP (experimental; r = 0.863; P < .000) and (control; r = 0.898; P < .000). The direct measurements of muscle power (MP) require researchers to access costly and complex instruments. This need will be met by the MP estimation equations obtained from a simple vertical jump height and body composition measurement.

Optic Schwannoma is rarely observed clinically as optic nerve had anatomically impossibility for the location of Schwannoma. However, several reports described the established cases of optic Schwannoma, of which the locations were in orbit or within optic canal. The occurrence of optic Schwannoma intracranially has been not reported. ⋯ We reported an intracranial optic Schwannoma removal with the lateral supraorbital keyhole approach assisted by neuroendoscopy. Intracranial optic Schwannoma was rarely seen clinically. Neuroendoscopy imaging suggested the close relationship between the tumor and ACA, supporting vasculature-origin hypothesis for the optic Schwannoma.

Infectious disease consultations and newly diagnosed cancer patients: A single-center retrospective observational study.
Noninfectious diseases may be diagnosed during infectious disease (ID) consultations. Among non-IDs, cancer diagnosis is important; however, epidemiological data describing the relationship between ID consultations and newly diagnosed cancer patients are scarce. This study described the frequency and tendency of new cancer diagnoses in patients after ID consultation. ⋯ The initial most likely ID diagnosis was important for new cancer diagnoses (P = .004, odds ratio: 11.1, 95% confidence interval: 2.11-57.2); diagnostic errors, as judged by the physicians, occurred in 2 of the 6 cases. While the frequency of establishing new diagnoses during ID consultations is low, coexisting infection and cancer is possible. ID specialists should identify any patterns related to new cancer diagnosis in patients to prevent diagnostic error and improve the quality of diagnosis.

Stroke is one of the diseases that seriously threaten the survival and health of human beings. In Europe and the United States, stroke is the second leading cause of death after heart disease and tumors. Stroke is also one of the fatal diseases in Asian countries. ⋯ This treatment technology can quickly relieve the abnormal hemodynamics of distal blood vessels caused by arterial stenosis, which is ischemic. Cerebrovascular disease provides new ideas for treatment. Carotid angioplasty and stenting for symptomatic internal carotid stenosis under a distal cerebral protection device is a safe and effective treatment.

The argument on the clinical effects of previous anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction on total knee arthroplasty (TKA) remains to be resolved. The aim of the current study was to compare operative and postoperative outcomes of patients undergoing TKA after ACL reconstruction with a matched cohort of control subjects having primary osteoarthritis and no history of ligament reconstruction. ⋯ This study had limited inclusion and exclusion criteria and a well-controlled intervention. We hypothesized that prior ACL reconstruction had a negative impact on the operative and postoperative outcomes of TKA.
