Low correlation between biometric parameters, cardiovascular risk factors and aortic dimensions by computed tomography coronary angiography.
To analyze the relationship between aortic measures and biometric parameters in a large cohort of consecutive patients undergoing computed tomography coronary angiography.1170 patients (717 men/453 women) performing computed tomography coronary angiography for coronary evaluation were retrospectively evaluated. Aortic diameters and areas were measured at reproducible anatomic landmarks, perpendicular to the axis of vessel, at the level of the aortic root (AoR), the sinotubular junction (STJ), and the tubular ascending aorta (TAo). Biometric parameters and cardiovascular risk factors were recorded. ⋯ Multiple linear regression analysis models were compared by R. The best model used body surface area (BSA) and age as independent variables and TAo diameter as dependent variable (R = 0.29 for AoR; R = 0.21 for STJ, and R = 0.20 for TAo). In conclusion, in our population low correlation between aortic dimensions and biometric parameters highlights the difficulty of identifying normal ranges, as well as issues related to normalization using conventional biometric parameters.

Analgesic effect of pulsed electromagnetic fields for mammaplasty: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies.
Pulsed electromagnetic fields shows some potential in alleviating pain after mammaplasty. This systematic review and meta-analysis is conducted to investigate the analgesic efficacy of pulsed electromagnetic fields for pain control after mammaplasty. ⋯ Pulsed electromagnetic fields is associated with substantially reduced pain intensity after mammaplasty.

Therapeutic hypothermia for cardiac arrest due to non-shockable rhythm: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
The effectiveness of therapeutic hypothermia (TH) for patients following cardiac arrest with non-shockable rhythm is debated. We plan to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis with all available randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to explore the efficacy and safety of TH in in this population. ⋯ CRD42020161823.

A PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in treating hepatitis C.
To conduct a meta-analysis evaluating the effect of combining traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with Western medicine in treating hepatitis C, and to provide an evidence-based medical strategy. ⋯ The combination of TCM and PR can improve the Comprehensive Clinical Efficacy of hepatitis C and have a better negative rate of HCV-RNA with a better benefit in the liver function. The effect of TCM + PR is better than that of PR alone in treating hepatitis C.

Primary central nervous system lymphoma after heart transplantation: A case report and literature review.
The heart transplantation is the most important treatment for patients with end-stage severe heart disease who failed to conventional therapy. Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder is the second most common malignancy in heart transplant recipients. However, primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) after heart transplantation is an extremely rare condition. ⋯ PCNSL after heart transplantation is an extremely rare phenomenon with extremely poor prognosis. We should pay close attention to the heart recipients, especially when the patients present with neurological symptoms and signs. The available treatment options for PCNS-post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder include the reduction of immunosuppressive drugs, immune-chemotherapy, operation, radiotherapy. However, individual treatments for heart transplant recipients with PCNSL should be based on the performance status and tolerance to treatment, combined with the doctor's experience and supportive care.
