Randomized Controlled Trial
The acute and chronic effects of high-intensity exercise in hypoxia on blood pressure and post-exercise hypotension: A randomized cross-over trial.
Acute exercise leads to an immediate drop in blood pressure (BP), also called post-exercise hypotension (PEH). Exercise in hypoxia is related to additional vasodilation, potentially contributing to more profound PEH. Therefore, we investigated the impact of hypoxia versus normoxia on the magnitude of PEH. Second, we examined whether these changes in PEH relate to the BP-lowering effects of 12-week exercise training under hypoxia. ⋯ Our findings show that hypoxia does not alter the magnitude of PEH in healthy individuals, whilst PEH relates to the BP-lowering effects of exercise. These data highlight the strong link between acute and chronic changes in BP.

Functional constipation refers to constipation without organic lesions caused by dietary factors, mood depression, changes in life rules, and poor bowel habits. Clinically, constipation is mainly manifested by changes of stool texture, difficulty or lack of bowel movement, and dry stool. Sometimes, it can be accompanied by abdominal distension and abdominal discomfort. Chinese herbal compound is a prescription which is composed of 2 or more medicinal flavors and is designed for relatively certain diseases and syndromes. Clinical studies have shown that TCM compounds have a good therapeutic effect on functional constipation, but there is no evidence of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of TCM compounds in the treatment of functional constipation, and to provide evidence-based basis for the clinical application of TCM compounds in the treatment of constipation. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/D5ECF.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease characterized by erosion of joints and surrounding tissues. RA not only causes the decline of patients' physical function and quality of life, but also brings huge economic burden to patients' families and society. Total glucosides of paeony (TGP) is commonly used in treating RA in China. At present, there are many clinical reports about this medicine, but these reports have their own flaws. Therefore, there is an urgent need for systematic review and meta-analysis of the existing clinical evidence. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/85QVF.

Observational Study
Association between treatment package time and clinical predictors in oropharyngeal cancer.
The aim of the present study is to investigate the association of treatment package time with the survival outcomes and clinical parameters in patients with oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. A total of 49 patients who underwent definitive treatment were enrolled. The treatment package time was calculated in days from the start of any treatment to the completion of all treatments, including postoperative treatment and salvage surgery for residual tumor. ⋯ Moreover, a treatment package time of ≥118 days was significantly correlated with shorter overall survival and distant metastasis-free survival. On multivariate analyzes, Brinkman index ≥450 was significantly associated with shorter oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma-specific and locoregional recurrence-free survival, and the presence of synchronous cancer was significantly associated with shorter overall and distant metastasis-free survival. In conclusion, a relatively long treatment package time was a predictor of low survival outcomes in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma by univariate analysis.
