The value of chest radiography (CXR) in detection and as an outcome predictor in the management of patients with coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has not yet been fully understood. To validate a standardized CXR scoring system and assess its prognostic value in hospitalized patients found to have COVID-19 by imaging criteria and to compare it to computed tomography (CT). In this cross-sectional chart review study, patients aged 18-years or older who underwent chest CT at a single institution with an imaging-based diagnosis of COVID-19 between March 15, 2020 to April 15, 2020 were included. ⋯ The CXR Sextus score was found to be reproducible and CXR-CT severity scores were closely correlated. Increasing Sextus scores were associated with increased risks for intubation and prolonged hospitalization for patients with COVID-19 in a predominantly Black population. The CXR Sextus score may provide insight into identifying and monitoring high-risk patients with COVID-19.

Recently, researchers have emphasised on the clinical therapeutic effects of pulsed-radiofrequency combined with blockade to treat chronic migraine (CM) patients. However, there are controversial results. Therefore, the authors conduct the proposed research to assess the efficacy of pulsed-radiofrequency combined with blockade to teat CM patients. ⋯ Oct 12, 2021.osf.io/d2wx3. (https://osf.io/d2wx3/).

Cancer pain is an important factor in cancer management that affects a patient's quality of life and survival-related outcomes. The aim of this review is to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral administration East Asian herbal medicine (EAHM) for primary cancer pain, and to explore core herb patterns based on collected data. ⋯ Based on the results of this review, it is expected that the efficacy and safety of East Asian herbal medicine for cancer pain may be confirmed. In addition, it will be possible to derivation of a core herb pattern related to this research topic through additional association rule mining analysis.

Peripheral neuropathy after extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation therapy in children: A case report.
In recent years, the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) treatment for pediatric patients with cardiorespiratory failure has increased, with emphasis being given to the prevention of complications in ECMO-treated patients. Several studies have reported ECMO-related central nervous system complications, such as intracranial hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, and seizure. However, few cases of peripheral nerve injury have been reported in ECMO-treated adults; there have also been no reported cases of peripheral nerve injury in the pediatric population. ⋯ Through this case report, we present rare ECMO-related complications and emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and monitoring of peripheral nerve injury in ECMO-treated children.

An empyema caused by Streptococcus constellatus in an older immunocompetent patient: Case report.
Empyema caused by Streptococcus constellatus is rare in patients without underlying diseases. However, the importance of the Streptococcus anginosus group, which consists of S constellatus, S anginosus, and Streptococcus intermedius, as causative organisms of empyema has been increasing. ⋯ Although S constellatus can cause serious infections in patients with underlying diseases and immunosuppression, physicians need to consider S constellatus infection in community-acquired empyema in elderly individuals. It should be treated with early pleural drainage and antibiotics to avoid surgical decortication and prolonged hospitalization.
