Pre-operative nutritional assessments have been used as a "cornerstone" to help optimize nutritional status and weight in children with cerebral palsy (CP) to lower the risk of postoperative complications. However, the potential value of nutritional assessments on surgical outcomes in patients with CP undergoing major orthopedic surgery remains unproven. Do pre-operative nutritional assessments reduce complication rates of varus derotational osteotomy surgery in children with CP? Are complication rates higher in patients with a gastrostomy tube (G-tube) and can they be decreased by pre-operative nutritional assessment?One-hundred fifty-five patients with CP who underwent varus derotational osteotomy from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2017 at a tertiary pediatric hospital with minimum 6 months follow-up were retrospectively identified. ⋯ Nutritional assessments, which may improve long term patient nutrition, should not delay hip surgery in patients with CP and progressive lower extremity deformity. Patients and their families are unlikely to derive any short-term nutritional improvement using routine pre-operative evaluation and surgical outcomes are unlikely to be improved. Level of Evidence: III, retrospective comparative.

Anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody plus chemotherapy for treating advanced non-small cell lung cancer: A meta-analysis.
The use of standard cytotoxic chemotherapy seems to have reached a "treatment plateau". The application of anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) is a new strategy for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) therapy. We aimed to comprehensively assess the efficacy and safety of anti-EGFR-mAbs plus chemotherapy as first-line therapy for advanced NSCLC. ⋯ Adding an anti-EGFR-mAb to the standard platinum-based chemotherapy regimens used for the first-line treatment of advanced NSCLC resulted in statistically notable improvements in OS, PFS, and ORR. In particular, anti-EGFR-mAb and chemotherapy combinations achieved greater survival benefits in patients with squamous NSCLC than in those with non-squamous NSCLC. In addition, the safety profile of chemotherapy plus anti-EGFR-mAb combinations was acceptable compared to that of chemotherapy alone.

Multicenter Study
Follow-up care over 12 months of patients with prostate cancer in Spain: A multicenter prospective cohort study.
The therapeutic approach is crucial to prostate cancer prognosis. We describe treatments and outcomes for a Spanish cohort of patients with prostate cancer during the first 12 months after diagnosis and identify the factors that influenced the treatment they received. This multicenter prospective cohort study included patients with prostate cancer followed up for 12 months after diagnosis. ⋯ A fifth of the patients received no treatment. Palliative HT was more frequently administered to older patients with higher tumor grades and higher Gleason scores. Close to half of the patients experienced an AE related to their treatment.

Coil localization assisted wedge resection for pulmonary nodules in patients with malignant history.
We describe the clinical efficacy of coil localization (CL) assisted video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) wedge resection (WR) for pulmonary nodules (PNs) in patients having a history of malignancy. In a total of 16 patients having PNs and malignant history, treatment was carried out using computed tomography (CT)-guided CL and subsequent VATS-guided WR procedures from November 2015 to December 2019. Technical success of CL, WR, and long-term outcomes was analyzed. ⋯ The median disease-free survival was 27.9 months. Pre-operative CT-guided CL can be safely and conveniently used to facilitate a high success rate of VATS-guided WR for PNs in patients with a malignant history. Among the PNs in patients with malignant history, primary lung cancer also occupied approximately half of the PNs.

Diabetic gastroparesis (DGP) is one of the most common complication of diabetes. At present, despite the increasing number of clinical researches of treatment with Tuina have been reported, there are no systematic reviews of Tuina therapy for DGP. Therefore, it is of great significance to evaluate its safety and efficacy as a complementary and alternative therapy. ⋯ : INPLASY2021110019.
