Thyroid nodules (TN) are discrete lesions within the thyroid gland and are a common clinical problem detected in 19% to 68% of people. TN are more common as age increases and occur more frequently in women. TN can cause pressure symptoms, cosmetic complaints, and thyroid dysfunction. Treatment for benign thyroid nodules includes thyroid hormone therapy, surgery, radioiodine treatment, percutaneous ethanol injection therapy, and laser or radiofrequency treatment to shrink nodules. In China and many other countries, doctors use Chinese herbal medicines (CHM) to treat TN. However, systematic review and meta-analysis has not been found to assess the effects and safety of CHM in curing TN at present. Hence, the systematic review is conducted to scientifically and methodically evaluate the value of its effectiveness and safety of CHM on TN. ⋯ INPLASY2020120093.

The varicose veins of the lower extremities showed earthworm-like dilatation and venous protrusion of the lower extremities. Polidocanol foam sclerotherapy, as a minimally invasive treatment with rapid recovery, less trauma and not easy to relapse, has achieved good results in clinical, but it is lack of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of polidocanol in the treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities by meta-analysis. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/AUR4X.

Huangyusang decoction for Type 2 diabetes: A protocol for systematic review and meta analysis.
Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels due to insulin resistance and β-cell dysfunction. In China, Huangyusang decoction (HYS) has been widely used to treat Type 2 diabetes. However, there is no systematic review found. In order to evaluate the efficacy and safety of HYS in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, we need to conduct a meta-analysis and systematic evaluation. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/AXBRV.

Delirium screening tools in the emergency department: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Delirium is a common type of acute brain dysfunction among emergency department (ED) patients. The prevalence of delirium in the ED is up to 40%. Although screening instruments used to identify delirium have been developed, it is unclear which tool is the most accurate in the ED. To address this challenging, we systematically examine the accuracy of delirium screening tools used to assess the ED patients. ⋯ According to the conclusion of the systematic review, evidence will be provided to judge which screening method is the best for the ED patients. The results will bring better understanding of screening methods in the ED and highlight gaps for future research.

Many studies have shown the effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on type 2 diabetes, but the effects in patients with type 2 diabetes with chronic kidney disease remains unclear. This study aims to evaluate the effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on renal outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with chronic kidney disease. ⋯ SGLT2 inhibitors had no significant effect on kidney function (eGFR measured) in the pooled analysis. And SGLT2 inhibitors effectively reduced UACR in T2DM with CKD. Besides, SGLT2 inhibitors could reduce the incidence of AKI.
