Squamous cell lung cancer is one of the major pathological types in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Since treatment with angiogenic agents and target drugs in patients with advanced squamous cell lung cancer is not promising, there are limited strategies to improve the outcome in such patients. Herein, we report a pretreated patient with advanced squamous cell lung cancer, who received low-dose of apatinib combined with S-1 as salvage treatment, with good long-term response. ⋯ This case indicated that low-dose apatinib combined with S-1 might be effective and safe in selected pretreated patients with advanced squamous cell lung cancer. It might be worthy to conduct further researches to investigate the efficacy and safety of the combination therapy in such patients.

Clinical characteristics and outcome of patients aged over 80 years with covid-19.
To investigate the clinical characteristics and outcome of octogenarians with covid-19. This is a observational, retrospective, descriptive study. Consecutive patients aged >80 years who were admitted for covid-19 pneumonia during a 6 weeks period (March 20-April 30, 2020). ⋯ Deceased patients had a significantly higher frequency of dyspnea, increased inflammatory parameters, and illness severity compared to survivors. One-third of octogenarians with covid-19 died during hospitalization and most had bilateral lung involvement. A further knowledge of the characteristics and outcome of this population may assist clinicians in the decision-making process in these patients.

Self-perception of theoretical knowledges and practical skills by primary health care physicians in life-threatening emergencies according to their gender: A cross-sectional study.
To assess the training received in Emergency Medicine (EM) by the Primary Health Care physicians of Asturias, as well as their perception of their own theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a series of procedures employed in life-threatening emergencies, and also to analyze the differences according to gender. The degree of preparation of Primary Health Care physicians for handling emergencies, according to the gender of the professionals, has never been studied before. Cross-sectional study of a sample of 213 Primary Health Care physicians from the Primary Health Care Service of Asturias, Spain, from among the total of 851 physicians on the staff of the Primary Health Care Service of Asturias. ⋯ There are nonsignificant differences in the mean of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in many procedures or techniques studied depending on the gender. Female and male Asturian Primary Health Care physicians are generally well prepared to handle life-threatening emergencies. The degree of self-perception and acquisition of general theoretical knowledge and general practical skills for handling life-threatening emergencies is heterogeneous, and differences according to gender are not statistically significant.

Non-apnea sleep disorder and its risk for all kinds of injuries: A 14-year follow-up for a nationwide population-based retrospective study.
Non-apnea sleep disorder (NASD) increases the risk of motor vehicle accidents. However, systemic review of NASD and its risk for all causes of injury is lacking. The aim of the present study was to provide a detailed demographic data on NASD and all causes of injury in a 14-year follow up. ⋯ Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the incidence of injury between the with- and without-NASD cohorts started from the first year and persisted until the end of the follow-up. Our study demonstrates that NASD patients were associated with higher risk of all causes of injuries, with falling being the most prevalent diagnosis. The general public should be more aware of this neglected issue of NASD.

Right atrial isomerism (RAI) is one of the most severe forms of congenital heart disease. This case of RAI was so complex that it incorporated 7 heart defects. It can be challenging to display the spatial relationship between different anatomical structures using conventional two-dimensional and color ultrasound (2D-Doppler imaging); therefore, we used spatio-temporal image correlation (STIC) and high definition live flow imaging technology to vividly display this case of RAI in a stereoscopic mode. ⋯ Accurate diagnosis of RAI is essential for clinical and parent decision making. 2D-Doppler imaging combined with STIC-HD live flow can be used to visualize the spatial morphology of blood vessels, including the cardiac chambers and great vessels of the fetal heart, and smaller peripheral vessels.
