Correction of calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), and parathyroid hormone (PTH) disorders is the standard of treatment in non-dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD), but the side effects and adverse reactions brought by western medicine (WM) are still the main problems. More importantly, the lack of protection of kidney function in the treatment greatly affects the health of patients. Although traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), specifically tonifying kidney and strengthen bone (TKSB) therapy is wildly applied for patients with CKD-MBD in China, the evidence of TKSB therapy in the treatment of CKD-MBD is limited. Thus, we pretent to conduct this protocol to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TKSB therapy combined with WM for non-dialysis patients with CKD-MBD. ⋯ INPLASY2020120086.

TCM nonpharmacological interventions for ankylosing spondylitis: A protocol for systematic review and network meta-analysis.
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a common infammatory rheumatic disease that affects the axial skeleton. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nonpharmacological interventions are gaining an increasing popularity for AS. Nevertheless, the evidence of efficacy and safety of random controlled trials (RCTs) remains controversial. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and acceptability of different TCM nonpharmacological therapies by systematic review and network meta-analysis. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/FHD2U.

The number of adult patients affected by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) still remains high, mainly in the developing countries. However, only a few affected patients fail to experience oral lesions in the course of their experience with the virus. In particular, oral mucosa ulcers detected among HIV patients may be severe, which depictions may inhibit oral functioning and change patients' quality of life. Thus, it can result in considerable morbidity among this group of patients. To this end, the present study aims to examine the topical agent's clinical therapeutic efficacy among adult patients suffering from HIV-related oral mucosa ulcers. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/5CYR2 (https://osf.io/5cyr2/).

Case Reports
Rapidly recurring massive pleural effusion as the initial presentation of sarcoidosis: A case report.
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disease with unknown etiology. It affects mainly the lungs, but it can affect almost any other organ. Nevertheless, pleural involvement with the development of pleural effusion is relatively rare. It is usually mild and responsive to treatment with systemic steroids. Here we present a case of rapidly recurring massive unilateral pleural effusion caused by sarcoidosis that was resistant to systemic steroids. ⋯ Sarcoidosis may rarely present with massive pleural effusion, as this presentation is rare; it is imperative to rule out other causes of massive pleural effusion. Massive pleural effusion in sarcoidosis may be steroid-resistant. Pleurodesis may have a role in such a scenario.
