Falls can easily lead to serious injury and even death in the older adults. Many exercise interventions, such as balance, flexibility, and endurance training have been shown to reduce the incidence of falls in this population. Previous meta-analyses examined either multiple tools for the diagnosis of peritoneal metastases (PMs), but not diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), or included only 1 tumor type. This study aimed to determine the summary diagnostic value of DWI/magnetic resonance imaging in determining PMs originating from various tumors. ⋯ DWI magnetic resonance imaging is highly sensitive and specific for the detection of PMs from various abdominal cancers.

Is Qi Fu Yin effective in clinical treatment of dementia?: A meta-analysis of 697 patients.
Dementia, a kind of acquired and progressive intelligence-damaging syndrome, is induced by cerebral dysfunction. Ancient records show that Qi Fu Yin (QFY) has the advantages in age-related dementia treatment. This study aims to evaluate therapeutic efficacy of QFY on dementia through meta-analysis. ⋯ QFY only or combined with western medicine therapy can significantly improve cognitive ability compared with only western medicine therapy in dementia. However, multiple samples, RCTs of high quality are still needed to verify our conclusions.

Acupuncture is widely used in treatment of postoperative ileus (POI), but the safety and efficacy of acupuncture in POI after gynecological surgery still lack of evidence-based basis. ⋯ Our findings will benefit researchers and provide reference for the treatment and prevention of POI for the patients undergoing gynecological surgery.

Overweight before pregnancy is independent risk factor for diabetes mellitus. This randomized controlled trial was to investigate the long-term effects of regular exercise during pregnancy on overweight and obese gravidas. ⋯ Our study aims to systematically assess the effects of regular exercise for overweight and obese gravidas, which will be provided clinical guidance for overweight and obese gravidas.
