Meta Analysis
Is Qi Fu Yin effective in clinical treatment of dementia?: A meta-analysis of 697 patients.
Dementia, a kind of acquired and progressive intelligence-damaging syndrome, is induced by cerebral dysfunction. Ancient records show that Qi Fu Yin (QFY) has the advantages in age-related dementia treatment. This study aims to evaluate therapeutic efficacy of QFY on dementia through meta-analysis. ⋯ QFY only or combined with western medicine therapy can significantly improve cognitive ability compared with only western medicine therapy in dementia. However, multiple samples, RCTs of high quality are still needed to verify our conclusions.

Controversy remains concerning the association of the all-cause mortality risk of hospitalized cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This study investigated the risks of all-cause mortality among hospitalized CVD patients with NAFLD. ⋯ Hospitalized CVD patients with NAFLD were at a higher risk of all-cause mortality than those without NAFLD. More studies that further explore this association are needed.

Meta Analysis
Sentinel lymph node biopsy in head and neck cutaneous melanomas: A PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis.
Head and neck melanomas (HNMs) behave differently from cutaneous melanomas in other sites, and the efficacy of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) for patients with HNMs remains controversial. ⋯ SLNB is associated with better overall survival and the SN status is a promising risk factor of poor prognosis for HNMs patients.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of P53 expression and sensitivity to platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
The relationship between p53 expression and chemosensitivity of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is unclear. This study aims to explore the correlation between p53 expression and sensitivity to platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with NSCLC. ⋯ Patients with p53 negative expression is more sensitive to platinum-based chemotherapy than those with p53 positive expression in NSCLC, especially in advanced NSCLC.

Review Case Reports
Transformation from acute promyelocytic leukemia to acute myeloid leukemia with a CEBPA double mutation: A case report and review of the literature.
The transformation of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) to acute mononuclear leukemia during treatment is a rare clinical phenomenon, and no CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (CEBPA) double mutations have been reported. ⋯ AML with a CEBPA double mutation after APL treatment is very rare, thus the prognosis of this event will require further observation.
