Effectiveness and persistence of golimumab as a second biological drug in patients with spondyloarthritis: A retrospective study.
This observational, longitudinal retrospective, noncomparative study was designed to assess the persistence and effectiveness of golimumab as a second anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) drug in patients with spondyloarthritis requiring discontinuation from a first anti-TNF drug. Data were collected retrospectively for all patients with axial spondyloarthritis or psoriatic arthritis from 20 rheumatology clinics in Spain who started golimumab as a second anti-TNF drug between January 2013 and December 2015. Golimumab persistence was assessed with Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, and associated factors were assessed with Cox regression analysis.210 patients started golimumab as a second anti-TNF drug: 131 with axial spondyloarthritis and 79 with psoriatic arthritis. ⋯ Cox regression analysis showed that the probability of survival with golimumab was higher in patients with higher erythrocyte sedimentation rate, in patients with axial spondyloarthritis than with psoriatic arthritis, and in those who had discontinued adalimumab as first anti-TNF. Seventy-two patients (34.3%) discontinued golimumab during follow-up, 50 of them due to lack of efficacy. In patients with spondyloarthritis requiring discontinuation from a first anti-TNF drug, treatment with golimumab was effective and showed a high probability of persistence up to 4 years of treatment.

Plaque psoriasis (PSO) is a common clinical chronic inflammatory skin disease. The incidence rate is increasing year by year due to the fast pace of work and unhealthy diet. Fire needle has been widely used in the treatment of PSO. However, the efficacy of fire needle for PSO is uncertain. Thus, the purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of fire needle for PSO (blood stasis syndrome). ⋯ INPLASY202120007.

To evaluate the effect of astragaloside IV for hepatic fibrosis. The multiple databases like Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane databases, and China National Knowledge database were used to search for the relevant studies, and full-text articles involved in the evaluation on effect of astragaloside IV for hepatic fibrosis. Review Manager 5.2 was adopted to estimate the effects of the results among selected articles. ⋯ Transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) in model group was higher than that in astragaloside group (MD was -0.55, P of heterogeneity <.00001, I2 = 97%, Z = 2.54, P of over effect = .01). Limited publication bias was observed in this study. Astragaloside IV is a potential clinical drug for the treatment of liver fibrosis considering liver function and hepatic fibrosis related protein factor in experimental rats are improved.

Frequency of pre-treatment may not increase the immune-related adverse events of RCC patients treated with nivolumab.
Nivolumab has shown good prognosis in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients previously treated with targeted therapy. We aimed to study irAE (immune-related adverse event) due to nivolumab and numbers of previous treatment lines in RCC patients. Between October 2016 and November 2019, 114 patients were treated with nivolumab as second- and later-line therapy. ⋯ Odds ratios of the numbers of nivolumab treatments and best overall response for the incidence of irAE were not significant. No statistically significant relations were found between grade of irAE and numbers of treatments prior to nivolumab. Patients treated with nivolumab should be closely monitored for irAE regardless number of previous therapies.

Evidence reveals that inflammatory factors can predict coronary restenosis in patients suffering from coronary heart disease (CHD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Perhaps, inflammatory factors are promising biomarkers for the diagnosis of coronary restenosis after PCI. However, the accuracy of inflammatory factors has not been systematically evaluated. Therefore, it is necessary to perform a meta-analysis to certify the diagnostic values of inflammatory factors on coronary restenosis after PCI. ⋯ Ethical approval will not be necessary since this systematic review and meta-analysis will not contain any private information of participants or violate their human rights.
