Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most common complications of diabetes and the main cause of kidney failure in developed countries. Clinically, DN is usually treated by controlling blood sugar and blood pressure. According to reports, the application of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) or angiotensin receptor antagonist can only target a certain stage of disease development. However, the application of Suoquan Pill (SQP) in traditional Chinese medicine has produced obvious clinical effects and minor side effects. It is used to treat DN and other diseases, but there is no systematic review of SQP in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy. This article reviews the effectiveness and safety of SQP in the treatment of DN. ⋯ 10.17605/OSF.IO/KZ9RA.

The existing meta-analyses and randomized studies on myoinositol are of poor quality, with small sample sizes, and involve a homogeneous population. The general applicability of these findings to the National Health Service is unclear. We thus conduct this new high-quality systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of myoinositol in pregnant woman. ⋯ It was hypothesized that myoinositol supplementation could increase the action of endogenous insulin and prevent GDM and its complications.

The immune checkpoint programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) plays a critical role in immune regulation. Recent studies have demonstrated functional PD-1 expression in peripheral sensory neurons, which contributes to neuronal excitability, pain, and opioid analgesia. However, the relationship between the expression of soluble programmed cell death-1(sPD-1) and cancer pain is controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between sPD-1 expression level and cancer pain through meta-analysis. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/WDPUY.

Advanced gastric cancer (AGC) patients are not tolerant to the toxicities of traditional chemotherapy and its second-line therapeutic regimens are limited. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of apatinib combined with S-1 as the second-line therapy for AGC patients. Patients with AGC were enrolled in this study. ⋯ Apatinib combined with S-1 showed promising efficiency and was well tolerated as the second-line therapy for AGC patients. ECOG PS was the independent factor of PFS and OS for AGC patients. AEs were moderate and controllable, and leukopenia or hypertension was predictable factors for the PFS and OS of AGC patients.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is one of the most common chronic complications of diabetes. As apelin is an adipocytokine closely associated with diabetes, this study explored the clinical significance of serum apelin levels in patients with type 2 DPN before and after treatment. ⋯ Our results show that the increase in serum apelin levels is an important clinical reference index for DPN, while a decrease indicates that the DPN treatment is effective.
