Meta Analysis
The analgesic evaluation of gabapentin for arthroscopy: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
The efficacy of gabapentin for pain management of arthroscopy remains controversial. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the influence of gabapentin versus placebo on the postoperative pain intensity of arthroscopy. ⋯ Gabapentin is effective for pain control after arthroscopy.

Osteosarcoma is a primary form of malignant bone tumor. It is commonly prevalent among children. Treating osteosarcoma with chemotherapy has had limited clinical outcomes due to side effects and the formation of drug resistance. Presently, a mixture of doxorubicin, cisplatin, ifosfamide, epirubicin methrotrexate, and other supplementary medications are used in osteosarcoma chemotherapy. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the clinical therapeutic effects of combining methotrexate with other chemotherapeutic agents to treat osteosarcoma in children. ⋯ This protocol has been registered on INPLASY202110024.

To evaluate the rib fracture detection performance in computed tomography (CT) images using a software based on a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) and compare it with the rib fracture diagnostic performance of doctors. We included CT images from 39 patients with thoracic injuries who underwent CT scans. In these images, 256 rib fractures were detected by two radiologists. ⋯ Based on the JAFROC analysis, the differences in the figure-of-merits between the results obtained via the DCNN software and those by Interns A and B were 0.057 (95% confidence interval: -0.081, 0.195) and 0.071 (-0.082, 0.224), respectively. As the non-inferiority margin was set to -0.10, the DCNN software is non-inferior to the rib fracture detection performed by both interns. In the detection of rib fractures, detection by the DCNN software could be an alternative to the interpretation performed by doctors who do not have intensive training experience in image interpretation.

Conservative management of avascular necrosis of the metacarpal head: A case report and brief review.
Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the metacarpal head is rare, and there is no clear consensus on treatment. The main aim of this study was to discuss the possible pathologic-mechanics of its development, epidemiology, radiographic features, and outcome after conservative treatment. ⋯ Metacarpal head necrosis typically occurs in adolescent patients with a history of trauma. Conservative treatment may sometimes have an excellent prognosis.

Previous meta-analyses have examined the clinical efficacy and acceptability of deep brain stimulation (DBS) compared with sham therapy or paired active therapy. However, the absence of head-to-head clinical trials with some treatment comparisons creates uncertainty for decision makers. Thus, to provide new evidence-based medical evidence for clinical treatment, we undertook a meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of DBS in patients with depression based on high-quality randomized controlled studies. ⋯ 10.17605/OSF.IO/Q5B3S.
