Chromosomal aberrations are generally considered to have a remarkable impact on the outcome of multiple myeloma. Bortezomib helps to achieve complete responses and leads to longer life expectancy in many multiple myeloma patients. This study was designed to clarify whether bortezomib can improve the poor prognosis resulting from del(17q13), del(13q14), amp(1q21), t(4,14), t(14,16) in patients with multiple myeloma. ⋯ Kaplan-Meier survival and Multivariable Cox regression analysis were employed to assess the prognostic situation in progression-free survival and overall survival. The result showed that the progression-free survival and overall survival of patients with del(17q13) were shorter than those without del(17q13) in multivariate analysis and patients with del(13q14), amp(1q21), t(4,14), t(14,16) were similar to patients without these chromosomal aberrations in progression-free survival and overall survival after receiving bortezomib-based regimens. In conclusion Bortezomib-based regimens can overcome the poor prognosis derived from del(13q14), amp(1q21), t(4,14), t(14,16) but not del(17q13).

The incidence of osteopenia of prematurity in preterm infants without phosphate supplementation: A prospective, observational study.
To meet their requirements for bone mineralization, it is recommended that preterm infants receive nutritional support containing calcium and phosphate. There are no clear data on the incidence of osteopenia of prematurity (OFP) in preterm infants without phosphate supplementation. This study aimed to investigate the incidence of OFP in preterm infants without phosphate supplementation and its relationship with the duration of parenteral nutrition (PN). ⋯ We found a high incidence of OFP in preterm infants without phosphate supplementation. An association was found between the duration of PN and the incidence of OFP. Further research is needed to prevent the development of osteopenia in preterm infants.

The argument on the efficacy of medical nutritional therapy and comprehensive nutritional care remains to be resolved. Therefore, we conducted this protocol of systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy between medical nutritional therapy and comprehensive nutritional care for patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). ⋯ 10.17605/OSF.IO/SC8HJ.

Patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) have gastrointestinal dysfunction, and enteral nutrition intolerance is easy to occur during the implementation of enteral nutrition, which leads to the suspension or termination of enteral nutrition. Enteral nutrition cannot tolerate the influence of many factors. At present, there is a lack of analysis on the influencing factors of enteral nutrition intolerance in patients with SAP. Therefore, this study analyzed the factors of enteral nutrition intolerance in patients with SAP by meta-analysis, to provide a basis for the protection of enteral nutrition in patients with SAP. ⋯ This study systematically reviewed the existing evidence and determined the incidence and predictors of enteral nutrition intolerance in patients with SAP.

Correlation between 25-hydroxyvitamin D level and arterial elasticity in middle-aged and elderly cadres in Guiyang, China: A retrospective observational study.
There is evidence that serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25-(OH) D] levels may be associated with cardiovascular disease and its risk factors. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between 25-(OH) D levels and blood pressure (BP), blood lipids, and arterial elasticity in middle-aged and elderly cadres in China. In this retrospective study, we included 401 civil servants and cadres aged >42 years who underwent medical examinations at Guiyang Municipal First People's Hospital, China in 2018. ⋯ There were significant differences in systolic BP, pulse pressure, baPWV (left and right sides), ABI (left side), high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, and triglycerides (TGs; all P < .05) among groups. Multivariate linear regression revealed that TG, left baPWV, and right baPWV were significantly negatively correlated with 25-(OH) D levels (all P < .05). In this study, 25-(OH) D levels were found to be associated with TG, left baPWV, and right baPWV values. 25-(OH) D deficiency may be associated with reduced arterial elasticity.
