Review Case Reports
MORC2 gene de novo mutation leads to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2Z: A pediatric case report and literature review.
Mutations of the MORC2 gene have most commonly been associated with autosomal-dominant Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2Z (CMT 2Z), while the impact of MORC2 mutations in CMT 2Z on neuronal biology and their phenotypic consequences in patients remain to be clarified. ⋯ The clinical manifestations of the disease were similar to those of Leigh syndrome, and they were not significantly improved by cocktail therapy. This site has not been reported in the literature domestically or abroad, and the pathogenesis of CMT 2Z caused by this site mutation is indeed not related to mitochondrial dysfunction. Our study is helpful for clinicians with regard to the differential diagnosis of Leigh syndrome and CMT 2Z and improvement of clinicians' understanding of CMT 2Z disease.

The incidence of mumps in Taiwan and its association with the meteorological parameters: An observational study.
Mumps is an acute and common childhood disease caused by paramyxovirus. It has been reported that the occurrence of mumps is influenced by seasonality. However, the role of meteorological variables in the incidence of mumps remains unclear. ⋯ The number of mumps cases was positively associated with temperature and relative humidity during the period preceding the infection. This study showed that the occurrence of mumps is significantly associated with increasing temperature and relative humidity in Taiwan. Therefore, these factors could be regarded as early warning signals and indicate the need to strengthen the intervention and prevention of mumps.

The efficacy of fish oil in preventing coronary heart disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is one of the most common causes of death and disease burden in the world. Current fish oil aiming to prevent and treat CHD have shown a large variety of effects with low levels of evidence. ⋯ CRD42020183719.

Immediate family support is important to discharge home for cancer patient with bone metastasis after rehabilitation: A retrospective study.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the predictive factors of home discharge for rehabilitation patients with cancer bone metastasis. Cancer patients with bone metastasis who underwent rehabilitation between April 2014 and March 2017 were retrospectively enrolled. Data on discharge destination were collected from medical records as outcomes. ⋯ There were no skeletal-related events among these patients during their hospital stay. The receiver-operating curve for the predictive factors for home discharge of the Barthel Index at admission, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Performance Status at admission, and number of immediate family members living at home were 60 points (area under the curve [AUC] = 0.74, sensitivity = 0.6400, 1-specificity = 0.2766), 2 score (AUC = 0.65, sensitivity = 0.5400, 1-specificity = 0.2222), and 1 family member (AUC = 0.65, sensitivity = 0.9592, 1-specificity = 0.7222), respectively. In order to plan for cancer patients with bone metastasis to be discharged home, it is important to take into consideration the patients' Barthel Index and Performance Status at the time of hospital admission and the number of immediate family members living at home.

Participate in tumorigenic, oncogenic, and tumor suppressive pathways through gene expression regulation. We aimed to build an immune-related long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) prognostic model to enhance nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) prognostic prediction. The original data were collected from the cancer genome atlas database. ⋯ The 5-lncRNA signature was validated as an independent prognostic factor with high accuracy (area under the receiver operating characteristic = 0.722). Silico functional analysis connected the lncRNAs with immune-related biological processes and pathways in carcinogenesis. The novel immune-related lncRNA prognostic model had significant clinical implication for enhancing lung adenocarcinoma outcome prediction and guiding the choice of treatment.
