Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a common cause of death worldwide and heart failure (HF) is the main complication. Although the increase in percutaneous coronary intervention and drug treatment can reduce in-hospital mortality after AMI, the incidence of HF after AMI and the resulting risk of death are still rising, which causes difficulties in the rehabilitation of AMI patients after reperfusion. ⋯ This study will provide an important basis for the application of traditional Chinese medicine in patients with AMI after reperfusion and provide an evidence-based basis for the prevention and treatment strategy of HF after AMI.

Distigmine bromide is a cholinesterase (ChE) inhibitor used to treat dysuria due to a hypotonic bladder. We encountered a case of cholinergic crisis caused by distigmine bromide, which resulted in a rapid decrease in serum ChE levels, hypothermia, respiratory failure, and circulatory failure within a short period of time. ⋯ ChE levels and symptoms before onset may not be useful for the early detection and prevention of adverse effects of cholinergic crisis caused by distigmine bromide. In addition to known risks such as renal impairment and older age, constipation should be recognized and communicated as a risk factor.

The coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak has impacted many educational institutions by imposing restrictions on offline or in-person lessons. Many students were stressed by "the loss of everyday life" due to the pandemic, and it is important to examine the impact of this loss on adolescents' mental health. This study aimed to investigate the factors that affect students' mental health during the pandemic from various perspectives. ⋯ The students who appreciated interacting with others experienced more stress during the lockdown. To reduce students' stress on online days, teachers should devise a lecture style with frequent breaks and introduce active learning. The findings of this study will contribute to addressing students' low mental health and reducing their stress during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Self-gravitation traction is 1 of the most popular treatments for lumbar disc herniation (LDH). This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the self-gravitation traction device in the treatment of LDH and to confirm its positive treatment effect. ⋯ Once the trial is completed, we will publish the study in journals in both Chinese and English to promote the dissemination and use of the results. In addition, we also plan to promote the research results at various academic conferences both domestically and internationally.

Emergency department practitioners suffered more burnout compared to 2016, especially due to emotional exhaustion (P < .001). Despite practitioners' improved degree of empathy, which had been described as being preventative against burnout, during the COVID-19 pandemic, over-involvement may have led to empathic stress and emotional exhaustion, giving rise to greater burnout.
