To analyze the change trend of life expectancy, the change trend of premature death due to 4 major chronic diseases, and its impact on the life expectancy of Wuhai residents from 2015 to 2020, and to provide evidence for the prevention and control of chronic diseases in this area. The data on population death comes from the Wuhai City Residents' Causes of Death Network Reporting System and the total population is calculated using statistics from Wuhai City's permanent population management, from 2015 to 2020. Premature mortality from the 4 main chronic illnesses was calculated using the abridged life table approach. ⋯ Diabetes's rise in premature mortality made a possible "negative contribution" to life expectancy (-0.036 years, -1.79%). From 2015 to 2020, the decreasing trend of the overall premature mortality caused by the 4 major non-communicable diseases in Wuhai was statistically significant, and the life expectancy of females was higher than that of males. We should concentrate on the prevention and control of major chronic illnesses in males, as well as the influence of changes in diabetes-related early mortality on life expectancy.

Biventricular repair of double-outlet left ventricle by handmade trileaflet-valved conduit: A case report.
Double-outlet left ventricle (DOLV) is a rare congenital cardiac malformation in which both great arteries arise entirely or predominantly from the left ventricle. An extracardiac conduit is the first surgical option for repairing DOLV, specifically because its placement of the extracardiac conduit can be customized to accommodate all possible anatomical variations. The bovine jugular veins and homograft valves are often used as conduits. There have been no reports on the use of handmade trileaflet-valved conduits for correcting DORV. ⋯ Correction of the left ventricular double outlet with a handmade trileaflet-valved conduit has been shown to have excellent performance, and long-term outcomes should be followed over time.

Antibiotics can cause central nervous system disturbances, manifesting as dizziness, confusion, headache, and seizures. Seizures due to antibiotic administration are related to increased excitatory neurotransmission because antibiotics act as competitive antagonists of the γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor. ⋯ Early PCS occurred in every patient when an overdose of the prophylactic antibiotic was administered. This report showed that the preoperative prophylactic antibiotic cefotiam administered in double doses evoked early PCS within a few hours of drug administration. Furthermore, such experiences caution that preoperative intravenous cephalosporins, including cefotiam, should be administered carefully in open craniotomy.

Adalimumab, an inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor-alpha, is a systemic non-corticosteroid agent approved for the treatment of noninfectious uveitis. Secukinumab, a human monoclonal antibody inhibiting interleukin 17A, is also being investigated as a potential treatment for noninfectious uveitis. ⋯ Here we show the therapeutic efficacy of the switch from adalimumab to secukinumab, with remission of joint symptoms and reduction of inflammation indices, in the absence of new relapses of uveitis. This case suggests that secukinumab is primarily effective and safe on joints pain of an inflammatory nature in patients with anterior uveitis who develop spondyloarthritis as an extra-ocular symptom, while also seeming to be effective in preventing ocular symptoms recurrence.

Adrenal mixed corticomedullary tumors (MCMTs) are single tumor masses composed of an intimately admixed population of both adrenal cortical cells and medullary components. Most medullary tumor components are pheochromocytomas; however, MCMTs composed of ganglioneuroma and adrenal cortical adenoma are extremely rare. The current case is a rare case of adrenal MCMT composed of ganglioneuroma and adrenal cortical adenoma with primary aldosteronism. ⋯ Adrenal MCMTs of the ganglioneuroma and cortical adenomas in the ipsilateral adrenal gland are extremely rare. Adrenal MCMTs exhibit benign clinical behavior, with no metastasis or death due to the tumor. With the development of diagnostic imaging technology, it is possible to identify mixed tumors. However, surgical resection of adrenal gland is a common treatment and a final diagnosis should be made based on the pathological results after surgery. Because this is to rule out the occurrence of rare malignant tumors and confirm the pattern of mixed tumors.
